Xiaolin's elusive, dreamlike sonic world surrenders to this energy, tirelessly searching for the balance between light and dark, tension and release. Inspired by sounds from the mid 80’s-early 00’s, and driven by her love for film, anime, nature and French impressionism, Xiaolin’s atmospheric, analog synth-heavy productions range from gritty acid and hypnotic tech house with earthy percussion to tripped-out electro, shimmering techno and dubby downtempo ambience that invoke feelings of romantic adventure. Despite her ever-evolving nature, Xiaolin’s ethereal-yet-grounded sound remains a signature throughout all productions, combining soft imagination with raw power. Xiaolin is sensitive to the dance floor and curates a dynamic journey unbound by genre, digging deep in order to discover unlikely connections. Her house-to-techno DJ sets, sprinkled with progressive and organic sounds, 303 and breaks, draw energy from the four elements, while her original live set has three formats: “Sun” for sunrise settings, “Moon” for meditative settings and “Body” for nightclub settings. Releases include two EP’s on 宀 Records, a collaborative track on Klasse Wrecks “Michaelsoft” with Mr. Ho, VA contributions on 20/20 Vision (Exit Planet Earth - “Helium”), Polychrome Audio (“Diffraction EP”) and Harmony Rec (upcoming), as well as three 80’s Cantonese disco tribute EP’s on Sound Metaphors’ “Bless You” imprint (A&R by Jane Fitz). Her live set recordings for QEONE’s SoundSculptors series and Rainbow Disco Club have garnered critical acclaim. Xiaolin currently hosts a bimonthly show on Baihui Radio China and has done guest mixes on The Mudd Show, The Lot Radio, NTS, Noods, Test Pressing, EYA, Trommel and Balamii amongst others. Past highlights include Wonderfruit Festival, Boiler Room, Transmissions from Hackney, Blitz Club and Panorama Bar. She made her Rainbow Disco Club live set debut with Kuniyuki Takahashi in April 2025, with standout appearances at Monument, Draaimolen and CODA by Ratherlost and Pax-Romana for ADE.
