He witnessed DJ and live sets by some of the best in the world, through his work with Lux but also handpicked nights, festivals and podcasts, as good taste has always been on his side. He has thus developed a super-sharp ear that, together with a sensitivity tuned in to the best textures, melodies and beats, were the key to start building his own sets, where the most authentic house - pioneering or avant-garde - can be heard embraced to cold wave, boogie, italo or some of the most imaginative techno. Think Dark Entries but also Strictly Rhythm, in a meeting that is immune to trends but completely modern. Varela has been sharing his acute and generous vision in booths and festivals across the country, as well as in the digital waves of Rádio Quântica over the last three years.
