Antes de descobrir o mundo da música eletrónica, Wise teve formação em bateria e percussão sob a orientação do seu pai iraniano, baterista profissional — esta influência desempenha um papel importante na formação da base techno que cria.
Function é uma das figuras mais influentes do techno underground, com mais de 30 anos de carreira como DJ e produtor. Membro central do colectivo Sandwell District e artista ligado à Ostgut Ton e Tresor, tornou-se presença regular em espaços como Berghain, Bassiani e Fabric. O seu percurso entre Nova Iorque e Berlim ajudou a redefinir a linguagem do techno moderno, tanto através de projectos colectivos como da sua obra a solo, marcada por um som hipnótico, futurista e profundamente atmosférico.
The sensitivity and skill of Rene Wise (Andrew Shobeiri) as both producer and DJ merge into a singular concept: exploring primal human instinct through rhythm and groove, reflecting an extensive knowledge and maturity in his raw and intense sound, deep or atmospheric, yet always contemporary. His sets showcase this in full effect, maintaining a powerful and consistent sonic identity alongside an innate ability to create polyrhythms and multilayered textures that move both body and mind. Before discovering electronic music, Wise trained in drums and percussion under the guidance of his Iranian father, a professional drummer, an influence that plays a key role in shaping the techno foundation of his work.
Function is one of techno’s true underground heroes, with a career spanning more than 30 years as a DJ and producer. A core member of Sandwell District and an artist affiliated with Ostgut Ton and Tresor, he became a regular presence at clubs such as Berghain, Bassiani and Fabric. Moving between New York and Berlin, his work helped reshape modern techno through both collective projects and acclaimed solo releases defined by hypnotic, futuristic and deeply atmospheric soundscapes.

Mâhfoud is a Vocalist, Lyricist, Instrumentalist, Composer and Producer. His work is often referred to as melancholic, yet goosing. In his latest development he attempts to liaise science and sound into a honest fusion of traditional instruments and electronic driven compositions. After spending the entire year of 2016 in the studio his perseverative findings culminated in forms of originals, remixes and the vision of a finished album in the summer of 2017. Even though his idea of the expression of sound is perpetually changing, he safeguards the essence of it and learned through experimentation, dialogue and collaborations that the art only reaches its moment of blossom when shared.

If there's one thing we can promise you, it's that it's in the actual dance floor that one learns the most about DJing. And that's precisely how everything started for Varela. He witnessed DJ and live sets by some of the best in the world, through his work with Lux but also handpicked nights, festivals and podcasts, as good taste has always been on his side. He has thus developed a super-sharp ear that, together with a sensitivity tuned in to the best textures, melodies and beats, were the key to start building his own sets, where the most authentic house - pioneering or avant-garde - can be heard embraced to cold wave, boogie, italo or some of the most imaginative techno. Think Dark Entries but also Strictly Rhythm, in a meeting that is immune to trends but completely modern. Varela has been sharing his acute and generous vision in booths and festivals across the country, as well as in the digital waves of Rádio Quântica over the last three years.
