Based in Berlin, Egyptian/French DJ, label boss and promoter Rama explores rhythmic layering and genre fluidity, building narratives through a distinctive DJ practice rooted in live mashups. Her sets unfold as dynamic, high-tension journeys, shifting between dense percussion and broken rhythms while maintaining a deep sense of flow. She co-runs irsh with ZULI; a music collective, label, and event series operating at the intersection of club and experimental music, with a focus on artists from Egypt and the surrounding region. On her monthly Rinse France radio show, Rama tends to go for a more introspective sound, and often invites on guests from her community. Other radio appearances include NTS, Noods Radio, Radio AlHara and Refuge Worldwide. She has performed at festivals and venues including Unsound, FIBER, Nyege Nyege, Nuits Sonores, Frequent Defect, and more.
