A notable emerging figure in London’s creative scene, Mika Kailes (he/him) is an artist, DJ, and curator working at the intersection of music, visual art, and queer nightlife. As a resident DJ and curator at Club Are, platform he co-founded with Abdula Jama, Mika has built a reputation for crafting spaces that are both immersive and emotionally charged. Through Club Are, Mika explores the possibilities of sound and space as tools for connection, identity, and celebration. His sets blend early 2000s tech-house, progressive, and hard house with unexpected samples and pop cultural references, delivering bold, high-energy experiences that move bodies and embody collective presence. He has performed at key underground events across London and beyond, with notable appearances at Club Are, Playbody, Sextou, and Riposte. His work has also been captured in recordings for Smut Press, Foundation FM, and Introe. Mika’s curatorial and performance style continues to evolve, influenced by a rich background in fine art, photography, and fashion. Upcoming performances include Gala Festival, Body Movements Festival, and Night Service, marking Mika’s continued rise as a pivotal voice in the UK’s queer and electronic music scenes. His work aims to push the boundaries of nightlife, transforming the dancefloor into a site of artistic and cultural exploration.
