About this event
Argentinian artist Nicolas Rada returns to What Happens following a standout set a few years back that still lingers in memory.
Based in Buenos Aires, Rada has steadily built his profile - collaborating with Nick Warren and sharing lineups with Sasha, John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, and Guy J. His productions reflect a refined take on progressive house, with releases across some of the genre’s most respected labels. He’s joined by What Happens resident Tim Andresen, a central figure in Copenhagen’s progressive scene, known for his carefully constructed sets and long-form storytelling behind the decks. Completing the Black Box lineup is fellow Argentinian Alejo Fochi, whose recent releases on labels such as The Soundgarden, Sudbeat, and AH Digital mark him as one to watch.
With a strong Argentinian presence across the lineup, the connection runs deep throughout the night. In Red Box, things take a sharper turn — faster, playful, and driven by techno grooves from Shansen, Lele, and Culture Box debutant AYELEN. Vamos.

Nicolas Rada
Nicolás Rada was born in April, 1986, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Since childhood, he has loved percussion; and once he grew up, he started studying piano. Time gave him not only experience, but also a breakthrough in new trends of electronic music, and consequently, the challenge of creating his own productions. His favourite group is Radiohead, band from which he acquired dark and melodic sounds. Within electronic music, he has been influenced by some famous deejays like Danny Howells (his favourite one), John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J, Nick Warren, Guy Mantzur, Stephan Bodzin, Dosem, Sahar Z, Martín García, among others; so this way, he continued going foward the dark sounds of Progressive House, Tech House, Techno and Deep House. His distinctive feature when mixing, gained from all this influence, has been the characteristic that stands out in all his shows. 2007 was the year in which he started producing professionally, and from that time on, his musical growth was notable. Many of his projects were supported by international DJs. Some of his most remarkable tracks, as ‘Energy Flow’ of Mano Le Tough, ‘Everything In It’s Right Place’ of Radiohead and ‘Man I Need’ of Jawar Ma, received the reliance of Hernan Cattaneo and were played around the globe. Not only many night clubs and bars from Buenos Aires, but also a lot of provinces of Argentina, enjoyed Nicolás Rada’s performances. During 2010 he travelled around Mexico, together with his friend Nicholas Van Orton, and played live in many pubs of that country. All his production can be found in well-known labels, such as: Particles / Balkan Connection / Balkan Connection SA / Soundteller / Sound Avenue / 3rd Avenue / Majestic / PHW / Inmost / Superordinate / Revelation / Onward / Kansas / Bit Records, among others. Once a month, he also presents an online radio show, every 4th Thursday of the month at 1PM EST time on FRISKY Radio called ‘Oblivion’.
Tim Andresen
Tim Andresen is the label owner of What Happens and Savoir Faire Musique. He is also the co-owner of Culture Box widely regarded Denmark’s leading electronic music venue. But what really brought him to the limelight was his consistent output of production and DJ sets. Driven by the moments of inspiration, Tim follows his dreams through talent and hard work. He is a musician who enjoys all aspects of writing, production, engineering and arrangement of his own records. His portfolio of approximately 250 tracks and remixes features work for some of the most iconic record labels around and of course his own labels What Happens and Savoir Faire Musique. In the early days of his studio era, he also released as half part of Professional Losers, dubbed “the next big Danish housers” by iDJ Magazine after a string of successful vinyl releases on Southern Fried Records and personally being asked to remix by Norman Cook (the track entered at #1 on the UK Buzz Chart). Tim’s DJ sets are rooted in house ranging from deep grooves through to lush sounds and dreamy soundscapes. He incorporates everything from techno to electronica to manifest his mood of sound, often adding new layers and sounds to create unique trips that are utterly intriguing. Tim’s talents have not gone unnoticed, and resulted in him landing the “Best DJ” award at Club Awards, and “Most Popular Nordic DJ” by Megamind. From a background of playing and promoting highly successful club and warehouse parties in the nineties and early 00s, he gained an enviable following. Now established as an international artist, he has performed in more than 40 different countries in Europe, Asia, North America and South America. His exquisite taste and technical talent keeps him in demand across the underground club circuit. Since 2005, he has held an ongoing residency at Culture Box – described by Mixmag as “Copenhagen’s pioneering platform for cultivating electronic music”, and rated by Resident Advisor as “one of Europe’s best small clubs”. In 2007 he launched his own and now legendary What Happens residency. Denmark’s longest running monthly club night, and by many regarded one of Europe’s best club nights in progressive house, the events remained hugely popular upon clubbing’s return following the pandemic. Tim ‘s countless DJ sets have played a crucial role in helping to secure the club its unique position, achieving worldwide recognition and 6 awards for Best Danish Club. The Night Bazaar in the UK wrote “Few DJs can claim to have had as much impact on their local club history as Copenhagen’s Tim Andresen”. Ministry Of Sound, for whom he was a tour DJ and mixed a CD compilation during a time when record sales were still notable, referred to him as “the busiest man in Danish house music” . Known for a decades-long career, his legacy reaches well beyond the boundaries of Scandinavia. Wearing his many hats, he continues to innovate and move things forward led by passion and intensity. His tireless work behind the curtains, including workshops with the team from Pioneer DJ, a mentorship for the Future Female Sounds organisation and guidance and help for the young generation, is something that for him remains equally important.
