Eli Verveine
As a DJ, Eli Verveine is widely respected for her ability to build her own dancefloor wherever she is in the world. Always engaged with the crowd, Eli sees communication as integral to the art of DJing: whether it’s warm-up, peak-time or after-hours, she captures the collective energy and applies just the right doses of drama and restraint until every dancer is locked into a unified groove. Eli’s versatile blend of genres and moods has brought her to some of the most iconic stages around, from the clubs Bassiani, Panoramabar, Fabric and Closer to the festivals Garbicz, Rainbow Disco Club, Waking Life, and delivering the prestigious closing set at Organik Festival in Taiwan. She has a B2B project, Among Trees, with Andrey Pushkarev. As a live performer, Eli Verveine collaborates with Berlin-based DJ/musician Gwenan on the experimental live project Gin & Tonic. With a setup combining modular synthesis, drum machines, effects pedals and more, the duo tease variegated musical textures out of extended improvisations. This open-ended approach, grounded in close listening and a strong mutual understanding between the two, leads to intriguing musical dialogues in which the machines do the talking. As a producer, Eli Verveine’s discography stretches back to the Ness EP (2012) on Tardis Records, the label she runs with Oscar Schubaq. In 2023, she released the track ‘Morning Dub’, on a VA from Chateau Chépère, and ‘Reverie’, a track resulting from a project with school children in Basel. Eli has been having a lot of fun in the studio, so we can expect more solo material on the way.
Alexander Skancke
The young Norwegian thrives off the energy of the people on the dancefloor and has made a sizeable impact on the European electronic music scene all the way from his early releases on Neostrictly, to the acclaimed releases on his own label Quirk. Entrenched in love for vinyl and analog productions, Skancke is imbued with a passion for the very roots of house music and has found his path by carefully selecting records that have a uniqueness and originality to them. It should not be understated that his passion for music takes him far beyond the boundaries of electronic music and that this is a key point in his understanding of the musical language as a whole. Skancke’s passion for all things analog is reflected in all aspects of his life: from his work at Bikini Waxx, a record shop in Berlin specializing in second-hand vinyl, to his fascination with vintage studio gear. Because of this, you can clearly hear his passion for off the grid production and the rawness of the analog soul in his music. As a traveling nomad, Alexander Skancke has managed to take advantage of his lifestyle. His years in Oslo, Budapest and now Berlin give him as an artist the tools and inspiration to bring together far-flung influences and create something genuinely new and exciting.
Frank Haag
Frank Haag is focusing his sonic target on the contemporary world of unearthly electronic music. It’s shaped by the aim of pushing beyond his edgy musical interests from all kinds of genres and cultures. When being a student at the The Hague’s Royal Conservatory, Frank has been experimenting with analog and digital studio techniques by making multiple channel (surround) compositions. At school, focus lied on concrete music, also seen as soundart. For Frank, it’s about quality over quantity and attention to detail, the beauty of imperfection and about bringing the defamiliarizing power of electronic sound. Bending minds and time. Musical ability, combined with technical know-how, have allowed Frank a wide palette of expression.
