Felipe Valenzuela
Chile’s profound impact on electronic music is unquestionable. From Ricardo Villalobos to Luciano, the country has punched above its weight when it comes to discerning electronica. Another artist who firmly belongs among such esteemed company is Felipe Valenzuela. Now based in Berlin, Valenzuela is more than a DJ/producer - he’s a qualified sound engineer and a label owner of considerable repute. Prolific, technical and a performer boasting a magical and unique sound, Valenzuela’s musical nous and ability to read a crowd (bolstered by an impeccable collection of hard-to-spot records) has led him to some of the globe’s foremost nightspots. From Amnesia in Ibiza to Frankfurt’s Robert Johnson to Paris’ Concrete, he’s left his mark on some of the world’s most famous ‘floors. Throw in the fact that he’s also held residencies at Club der Visionaire and Hoppetosse in his adopted city of Berlin, and it’s clear that Valenzuela is a special type of DJ. From a label perspective, it’s Valenzuela’s relationship with Dani Casarano for which he is best known. In 2009, the pair launched Melisma (as well as its sister label, Melisma Limited), with both labels quickly earning lofty reputations amongst clued-in DJs and electronic music connoisseurs alike, a reputation that’s garnered label contributions from Ricardo Villalobos, as well as Thomas Melchior & Fumiya Tanaka under their much-respected Tofu Productions alias. Fast forward 8 years and Felipe and Dani, alongside close associate Momo Trosmann, are focusing their attention on a new label, Melcure. A hybrid combination of what makes Melisma - as well as Felipe & Trosmann’s Cure Music - so great. The label kicked off with Melcure000, a double A-sided affair, which featured stunning originals from both Felipe and Dani. The coming months look equally busy, with Felipe set to offer a string of releases under a range of different aliases. With appearances at Sonar as well as his aforementioned label endeavours already under his belt, it’s clear that 2018 is shaping up to be another momentous year for Felipe Valenzuela, the next chapter looks set to be every bit as exciting as what has come before.

Laidlaw
The world of music moves forward through consistent work from certain individuals that constantly experiment and push the boundaries of sound into the unknown, searching for a new perspective on the already existing and build new movements from the ground up, Laidlaw has shown to be one of these creatives for the new generation of party-goers. The Beeyou Co-Founder has created a movement with his brand in recent years with a heavy focus on creating the ultimate atmosphere to get lost in sound, with a string of events that have taken the UK by storm, changing the way people party. His journeys at both FUSE and Infuse events are a clear depiction of his forward thinking approach to music, always moving forward with each step, into the unknown and unconquered paths of the underground.
Magda
Magda's realm as an artist spans far beyond the typical role played by DJs and producers. With an open mind, Magda will try her hand at whatever feels right: from producing high-quality Tequila to tech collaborations, fashion and art, Magda has created a truly unique, multifaceted expression of herself. Born in Poland and raised in Detroit, Magda has soaked up the various characteristics of her surroundings, resulting in a widely-cultured perspective, tuned to see beauty and potential in the most derelict and depressed of places. As a teenager partying in Detroit, it wasn't long until Magda was fully immersed in the city's underground scene. In 1998, she was dropped straight into the deep end; she joined Minus and began touring the world as Richie Hawtin's opening DJ. Whilst this was a perfect platform for Magda to show off her talents and develop a fanbase, it brought with it the constraints of an established reputation. Magda was defined as a DJ under the Minus umbrella, but since has forged her own path. Magda's touring schedule is amongst the most high-profile and demanding around, with regular bookings at many of the world's very best house/techno clubs and festivals. She's proved herself as a consistent, adventurous and top-quality performer, with a knack for bringing tracks together in unexpected ways. As well as notable accolades such as a BBC 1 Essential Mix and playing at Timewarp's live streamed 20th anniversary, Magda has been behind some stand-out commercial mixes. 'She's A Dancing Machine', released in 2006 through Hawtin's label, was truly seminal. It intricately layered 70 tracks into 16 sections and displayed an almost unprecedented level of energy for a minimal DJ mix. She was later invited to record a mix for Fabric esteemed CD series, and adopted a similar patchwork approach to brilliant effect. Her latest, two-disc mix compilation, out through the Balance series in February, gives equal measure to the experimental and club-focused aspects of her DJing. Incorporating music from the likes of Shackleton, Murat Tepeli and Marcel Dettmann, Magda takes the listener on a thrillingly unpredictable listen. Though solo Magda releases are relatively rare, there's no doubt her ability extends beyond the booth to the studio. In the fall of 2010, Magda revealed her debut on Minus, 'From The Fallen Page'. It combined her love for Italian horror composition, Detroit techno futurism and straight-forward dancefloor functionality into a quality body of work that still sounds fresh today. She has also remixed the likes of Plastikman and Depeche Mode. Collaboration has become a vital part of Magda's studio work. Cornerbred is the project she shares with partner Daniela Huerta. Offering a respite from normal DJ sets, it revels in avant-garde and real-life concepts, utilising a broad sound pallet and lending itself to live performance. The pair have recorded mixes on Soundcloud and sites such as Oki-ni, the hour-long sessions covering a wide array of styles, sounds and periods, from 80s electro to more atonal works. DTR (Define The Relationship) is Magda's edits venture with Nyma, dedicated to 'reshaping, reintroducing and reviving early influences as a homage to the past, present and future'. So far, LL Cool J, Chaka Khan and Jody Watley have been under the DTR microscope with fascinating results. On top of all this, Magda has proved herself as a label boss, running the long-standing and successful Items & Things imprint with Marc Houle and Troy Pierce. The label thrives on the off-kilter and the uncommon, unearthing new artists and sounds that push boundaries. Thirty releases in and Items & Things proudly count the likes of Jimmy Edgar and Rework amongst its roster. With a new event series and much more in the works, 2015 is an exciting year for Magda and her fans. Her Maria Pascuala Tequila brand and design work also continue to open new avenues, each of them explored with the stamp of quality Magda has come to represent. Nesta
Nabih Esta exploded onto Beirut’s burgeoning clubbing scene as the generation-defining Nesta back in 2006. Whether at massive stadium events or more intimate club gatherings, it was hard not to catch one of his sets wrapping up or warming up for the biggest names in the industry. In the decade since, Nesta further cemented himself as part of the taste-makers in Beirut’s clubbing scene. After heading to London to hone his sound engineering skills, Nesta devised his Techno-drenched alter ego, Technophile. Technophile brought out the twisted, melancholic side of Nesta’s music allowing him to delve into more experimental frequencies in the spectrum while maintaining the momentum of the Nesta alias. In 2014, Nesta founded his Beirut-based label Fantôme de Nuit (FDN) and devoted himself to producing massive tracks infused with elements from his Lebanese heritage and musically-gifted family and entourage that led to the creation of Nesta & Silky Raven landing an EP on Damian Lazarus's label Rebellion. FDN today includes an impressive ever-growing roster of talent from both Beirut and beyond. As of 2016, several vinyl and digital EPs and albums have been released, with many more in store for 2017. With that, Nesta has helped transform Beirut from a city that appreciates and consumes good music, to a city churning out tracks and live sets that are making knees buckle and goosebumps rise across Europe and the Middle East. Apart from releasing massive bangers and sophisticated productions, FDN hosts regular showcases and private parties that bring together Beirut’s most seasoned musical palates, promoters and club runners. These parties have helped propel rising local talents, ensuring promising new artists get the recognition and direction they need to grow Lebanon’s clubbing culture even further with every weekend. His fruitful time in the studio hasn’t kept him from a busy touring schedule though. He holds a residency at Beirut’s biggest club, Uberhaus (The Garten) where he is also a partner. Apart from that, he is regularly featured on the lineups of top-notch clubs such as KaterBlau and Sisyphos in Berlin as well as renowned festivals like Sonar in Barcelona. Nesta, Technophile and Fantôme de Nuit combine to create a versatile spectrum of music that stays true to its House beginnings, continuously evolves its inclination to Techno and refuses to abide by one genre or style. This unique blend of talent and style has been perfect for today’s world where genres are hard to define and music lovers expect new elements and refreshing takes on time-honored genres they grew up listening to and loving.

" You don't have to be close minded and stay on a track. Experiment, play with sounds; understand and love them. Sounds you can see and hear, taking us to places we have never been, allowing us feelings we have never reached, creating stories that have never been told. This is the way I see it"
Tania Vulcano
Tania Vulcano The indisputable First Lady of CircoLoco and Queen of DC10 Ibiza, Tania Vulcano was there when it all began on those Monday mornings back in 1999 and continues to be a beacon for quality underground music. Whilst still typically playing the headline Terrace set for CircoLoco at DC10, Tania is global representative for the brand and continent-hops every weekend to meet the persistent demand for her music. Unsurprisingly, in many ways it is Tania's sound itself that acts as a showcase for what CircoLoco is all about. Vulcano, Uruguayan incidentally, now also runs the successful label Isgud Records.Featuring her own productions and others that truly embrace the deep spirit of deep, percussive vinyl grooves, Isgud has rapidly garnered a reputation for only the finest house music.
