Narciss

Pain and pleasure, and the alchemy of converting one to the other through expression is more than a motif in Narciss’ music, it’s the theme. At times it’s a lilting melody strung atop a shuffle of percussive activity, at others a thrumming reverie, heavy laden with low end and much more besides, but this variance of sounds inevitably resonates deep inside. Throughout the entirety of their musical progression, Narciss has been indefatigable in their endeavours, which are motivated by the connection and catharsis that their music cultivates. This desire to share the transformative powers of music has not only imbued their output with an enticing and revelrous timbre, it has fostered collaborations with like-minded souls like Gerd Janson and DJ Boring, among others. “There’s a red thread that I’ve been weaving through my life” says Narciss of their journey. As an artist, a queer person, a partner, and a human alive, the road they’ve walked has changed as it has changed them. The story unfolding thus far, in singles and EP’s as stanzas and chapters, tells of their trials and of their persistence in overcoming them. Styles evolved and sounds found and discarded alike, Narciss carries what they need and leaves to the past what’s in the past. The constant throughout their life and career, which is at the heart of their creative expression, is both a personal mantra and manifestation of their oeuvre - Per Aspera Ad Astra, “through hardships to the stars.”

Body Clinic

Body Clinic has it sussed, the Irish euphoria merchant who’s celebrated dancefloor productions and DJ sets establish him as a beloved talent of his native island. Rory Gilmore doesn’t do pigeonholing. Call it house, prog, tech, breaks, whatever; it’s simply anything-goes dance music destined for the peaks. His sound as Body Clinic is a delirious swirl of elastic basslines and melodies, chromatic club constructions upon which psychedelic tendencies flourish. A growing discography, with support from many of clubland’s modern provocateurs, has seen him release on Body High, 39 Records (with Wigs), Duality Traxx and Goddezz. Hailing from Bangor in Ireland’s County Down, Rory has dedicated his life to music. He’s a practising musician, a versatile player with a noted stint touring with the band Lemonade Shoelace across Europe, North and South America. In his downtime back home in Ireland, he became a regular disciple of Belfast’s clubbing scene, inspired by the sounds and community there. He’s since relocated to London, where he’s collaborated extensively with the artist Kynsy while continuing to develop his club persona. His DJ career has grown in this respect, with standout appearances for AVA Festival, Boiler Room, The Cause, Corsica Studios, The Pickle Factory, D2 Aberdeen, plus much more. - Nevan Jio
