MAEDON

A native of notoriously grimy Baltimore who spent some seasons in filthy Philadelphia learning the craft, her arrival in New York City circa 2018 signaled a shift in development, one confirmed by the emergence of her Maedon moniker and her partnership with Brooklyn/Berlin techno powerhouse Sonic Groove and its head Adam X. Already a longtime student of industrial and wave music, applying these ideas to the tough techno pioneered by this NYC institution brought her to new breakthroughs and quickly earned an international audience, cemented by her own move to Berlin mid-pandemic. Now three years, two albums, and an entire world later, Maeghan forges ahead to the next phase of a rapidly building career. A well-received collaborative full length with Adam X as Maedon-X on the legendary Tresor imprint confirmed her voice to the world with its impressively finessed production chops alongside raw, often autobiographical or political track titles and vocal content. Launched in 2023, her own Rant & Rave label is testament to her expanding interest in techno combined with intentional efforts to forward female artists, reflective of her own struggles within a still-male dominated subculture. A residency at Tresor affirms her place behind the decks as well as the boards, and a busy release schedule of legends and emerging names alike for Rant & Rave signals strong moves ahead for an already-respected talent. Assuring her future as the world falls apart, Maedon’s bracing sound and undeniable skills are a story now unfolding, with its beginnings already written in grit.

AKA VALERIA valeria aka. lila d. starts playing records in 1998, soon she develops an addiction for record shoping,spending all her money on vinyl,she starts playing in some clubs in mexico city and after a couple of years her addiction to the turntables and buying records becomes clinical, so she starts playing in important venues in the city next to a lot of importan djs that visit mexico. after this she travels to Palma de mallorca, spain where she has a summer residency at the club .." la costa..".here she gets to play sunset sets as well as beautiful sunrise sessions,after a few summers there she goes back to mexico playing in all the important clubs in mexico city, her adiction to buying records becomes worse as she becomes a profesional dj, playing in front of big crowds and sharing the decks with top djs from all over the world,always with a great taste for house beats and minimal techno sounds with a progressive edge she can work a set for big crowds for non stop dancing as well as more intimate minimal sounds for smaller clubs or after hours, in the summer of 2005 she travels to berlin for a quick glimpse of the world..s capital of club music, here her addiction for vinyl reaches crittical levels, today she produces under the name "signal deluxe" together with jerga, and lila d on her own, in the summer of 2006 & 2008 she returns to europe and plays in places like fusion festival, bar25, sweden, austria, poland and around germany. breathing, living, sleeping and eating vinyl she becomes the music she plays as her way to comunicate with the planet reaching out to all open heads and thirsty ears around the globe. one love. jah rules! for bookings please contact: booking@soundsofearth.net
