About this event
The city survived! And unfortunately so did we.
As concerned citizens are running to check on the local beavers, our return to Arkaoda shall come on the 19th of June. Expect another late-night gathering of suspicious rhythms, socially questionable behaviour, deviants queuing at the toilets, somebody crying outside by 4AM, Ordungsamt panic, anonymous noise complaints by neighbors living 5 kilometres away and the usual barely legal people behind the decks.

His music tries to make visible the queer roots of electronic dance music and to position the dancefloor as an engine of social change. He understands the raving experience and the labor of a DJ as a political phenomenon. His spectrum of sounds has a broad understanding of deep, progressive and power house with a strong energy and latin influences. Since 2017, he could be seen playing at Berliner queer events like Gegen, Members, Lecken, and the Teddy Awards. His music also brought him to the Midsumma Festival in Melbourne, to his hometown Santiago in the middle of the social uprising of 2019, to the heart of the Brazilian carnival with Cardume in São Paulo, and to other European cities like Madrid, Bilbao, Barcelona and Lisbon. In 2020, he and his queer family founded the collective and party Coven, his current residency and main project, an event that has gained respect and recognition in the Berliner underground, regularly happening at Berghain Kantine and focuing in artists form the global south. Recently, with his duo project The Midnight Service, he released his first production with the uruguayan label U’re Guay Records.
Gio Goltara
Gio is here for the drums. His selection reclaims the soul of old-school house, rich with Latin percussion, and returns it to queer dancefloors. Honoring the migrant pioneers of the genre, Gio tell his own story into every set: a generational history of movement across the Atlantic. Originally from a coastal village in Brazil and now based in Berlin, he uses music to reconstruct his heritage, bringing the lush landscapes of home to open-airs and the raw sensuality of the tropics to sweaty urban basements.
