It's been a breakout year for SIMMS. The 23-year-old producer and DJ has emerged as one of the sharpest voices in London's new wave of junglists, flipping R&B, garage and classic breaks into something widescreen and unmistakably his own. His debut EP Traversal Tapes landed in May as the first release on Passionfruit Records, earning him spots on ones to watch lists from Mixmag, DJ Mag and Beatport, and champions ranging from Sherelle & Jyoty to Shy FX. With recent mixes on 6 Music and 1Xtra, alongside regular slots on Foundation FM, Balamii and NTS - it's clear SIMMS is pushing jungle into its next phase.
