SENSORIAL: SCENE THREE [Listening Session + Live Performance + Club night]

The portal opens again.

But this time, Sensorial experiments with the format of a club night – inviting you to arrive early and experience the energy as it unfolds. A multisensory journey through sound, movement, live performance, space, memory and queer imagination.

After two Scenes exploring imagined futures and ancestral memory, we return to continue our exploration of decolonising queerness and the dancefloor. We ask you to surrender to the entire journey. Come exactly as you are and experience the evolution of energy from the first breath to the final release.

LISTENING SESSION: Sippin’ T opens the night with a spellbinding embodied listening session, custom-tuned for the physical warmth of the hand-built Felt Soundsystem. Designed for pure decompression, arrive early to shed the day – we are transforming the floor with soft textures and cushions so you can lay down, drop your guard and breathe collectively before the room mutates.

LIVE SHOW: We move into a sultry, resonant and special live performance from Berlin-raised, London-based indie-RnB-soul icon Lie Ning, bridging the gap between deep, captivating listening and club-ready, infectious movement.

THE RELEASE: The portal erupts. Trans and non-binary global heavyweights Maldita Vaina (Dominican Republic) and Kontronatura (São Paulo / Mamba Negra) bring fast-paced, highly percussive and bass-heavy sets spanning global club and Afro-diasporic rhythms - from Baile Funk, Kuduro and Dembow to Dancehall, bouncy bass/techno blends and sudden polyrhythmic transitions. Joining forces with Sensorial residents ROHiNA and Olive Juice, they take us into a truly borderless, high-energy and effervescent dancefloor.

THE SENSORIAL WORLD:
Around you, the transcendental visual work of Adam Popli evolves throughout the night, while Jyles Rodgers transforms the space through jaw-dropping sculptural set design. The entire room's sonic architecture will be anchored by the custom, handbuilt Felt Soundsystem – carrying the space from a pristine whisper into a heavy, percussive release.
Upstairs, explore a curated space showcasing independent queer, trans and diasporic makers.

THE PORTAL:
The world is incredibly heavy right now and we know it takes time to shed the day and actually lock into the music. Sensorial is an alternative to the usual queer nightlife experience – a space to arrive before you dance, to breathe, connect with the space, the sound and to your senses. Take your time as sound, light, performance and set design slowly gather around you. Let the space hold you, let the energy build and when you’re ready, let it carry you onto the dancefloor.

There is a dedicated wheelchair-accessible toilet on-site. Please note that the mezzanine balcony is accessed via stairs. High-volume sound, heavy sub-bass and haze will be in use throughout the event.
