SANCTUM OF SOUND IS A MUSICAL FORUM FOR LISTENERS OF AMBIENT, DEVOTIONAL, ELECTRONIC, EXPERIMENTAL AND PSYCHEDELIC MUSIC.
Curated and produced by the MaHalla team, Sanctum of Sound takes place on the first Sunday of every month, transforming MaHalla into a sanctuary of music and sound for 8 immersive hours. Dedicated to the art of creation and transmission, it offers a space for deep listening and sonic exploration.
The next edition unfolds on Sunday, June 7th from 2 PM to 10 PM, featuring performances by Moriaariava & Nina Pixel, Anahit Vardanyan, The Four, Robot Koch and Jeena.

Moriaariava & Nina Pixel
Moriaariava and Nina Pixel present ‘Snovanie’, their first live collaboration ever premiering within the Halls of MaHalla for Sanctum of Sound.
Nina Pixel is a sound artist, composer, and multidisciplinary creative researcher whose work investigates resonance, intuition, and collective imagination. Across performance, spatial sound works, participatory listening formats, and long-term research, her practice explores how sound shapes perception, time, and existing social fields.
Moriaariava is a movement exploring what is immutable in the infinite space of the ever-manifesting experience. From compositions for piano, improvised instrumental conversations and spatial installations, to lyrically minimalist songs ‘from eternity for eternity’.
Both artists based in Berlin and of Slovakian origin move between different sound installations during the performance with instruments like the Guzheng, Piano, Harmonium, Gongs, Fujara and diverse arrangements including ancient melodies that people sang to synchronize when they worked in distant parts of hills and mountains.
Robot Koch
Award-winning composer and immersive sound artist Robot Koch presents the Berlin premiere of his new album Quieter as part of his current international tour. Following recent sold-out performances in the US, UK, and France, Robot Koch brings this deeply contemplative work to MaHalla for Sanctum of Sound.
Quieter is built from a reduced palette of soft tones, analog synths, vibraphone, chimes, and bells, shaped slowly through tape. The music unfolds gently, inviting listeners into a shared space of stillness, presence and deep listening.
Presented in an immersive format, this performance including an improvisational set offers a rare opportunity to experience the album in a focused, intimate setting.
Anahit Vardanyan
Coming from a classical music background, Anahit Vardanyan spent many years exploring the electronic music scene and discovering a completely new world of sound. Now, in her journey, she returns to her origins into classical music and piano bringing everything together under one roof.
In this new chapter, she is combining electronic textures with the acoustic sound of the piano, using effect hardware units and live processing to build large ambient sound landscapes. Improvisation and atmosphere play a big role in her process, allowing the acoustic instrument to transform into something much more immersive and cinematic.
There is a strong inspiration from her roots and original ethnic music, especially Armenian musical influences. Through this project, she's exploring electronic sound from a different perspective not separating acoustic and electronic worlds anymore but letting them exist together naturally.
The Four
For Sanctum of Sound, Music Ashram, the music ensemble from MaHalla, puts together a 4-piece formation of guest musicians and members of the Ashram. The Four is a curated encounter bridging worldwide traditions, sounds, instruments and the current explorations of MaHalla.
Jeena
Jeena is a Palestinian-Canadian musician, producer, and sound artist based in Berlin. Her work exists across listening spaces, galleries, festivals, and club culture, all composed with the same intention: bringing audiences into theta state, the brain’s natural creative and meditative frequency.
She bridges ambient, neuroacoustic, and electronic elements in her live performances that invite presence, reflection, and connection. Through layered textures, voice, and frequency, she creates sonic environments that can be felt as much as heard.
