About this event

Discussing sustainability and slow touring in the music industry is no longer optional. In 2019, the top 1,000 touring DJs were responsible for 35 tonnes of CO₂ annually each. That is roughly equivalent to a petrol car driving almost nonstop for four months.

New study by VibeLab and Technopol dives into experiments with artistic short circuits as a model of low-carbon touring for artists.

Built around regional anchoring, cooperative networks, and artist well-being, the findings show that slowing touring does not need to be a choice of personal sacrifice.

But that DJs and artists careers can also benefit from it when done right.

The full report with case studies findings and recommendations for industry but also governments will launch online on 9 June 2026 and at our launch event at Garage Noord in Amsterdam.
