BLUME

BLUME, rooted in South America’s electronic music scene, has found a second home in Europe. After five formative years in Amsterdam, she now resides in Berlin, drawn to its raw artistic energy. In 2019, BLUME established her record store, Format Wars, and began curating pop-ups and cultural events. As a DJ and producer, her deconstructed, club-centric approach moves inwards from the edges of dance music. Her tracks and sets are boundless and freeform, shaped by the sonic qualities she values most. Embracing a broad dynamic, her style is as heavy in bass and energy as it is ghostly and atmospheric. BLUME's music flows between eerie ambient, half-time breaks, and the freeform energy of experimental techno. Weaving brass samples, polyrhythms, broken beats, and jungle influences, she explores tempo and texture with an open-ended approach. Heard in clubs like Open Ground, Berghain, Tresor, OHM, RSO, Oxi, and Renate in Berlin, as well as ADE in Amsterdam and the Positive Education festival in Saint-Étienne, she also leaves her mark online with appearances on NTS, Rinse FM, and Refuge Worldwide, alongside hosting The Otherness, her bi-monthly radio show on Noods. Beyond the club, she frequently brings her collection to listening bars such as Kwia and Migas, where she plays extended vinyl selections focused on non-linear percussion, abstract ambient, and avant-garde jazz. As a producer, DJ, and record shop founder, BLUME is, at her core, a dedicated student of sound. With Format Wars set to become a physical space in 2026, she is deepening her focus on emerging production technologies, generative tools, and Max for Live devices, pushing her research and practice further afield. BLUME’s distinctive style and bold presence have found a place with international labels, radio stations, and local crews, reflecting her creative expression, resourceful instinct, and ability to connect as she looks ahead.
