Psychic Liberation Night: Niloofar Asghary + Júlia Koffler

Psychic Liberation (PL) is a label founded in 2013, originally run with Miguel Alvariño under the name Primitive Languages as a cassette and record store project in New York City. Since 2019, Nick Klein has operated it solo from the EU under the title Psychic Liberation. The concert series of the same name takes place with changing guests.

Niloofar Asghary Niloofar is an artist working across sound, photography, and archives. Her work takes an investigative and experimental approach, often engaging with processes that reveal hidden structures and unstable narratives. She is currently focused on the creative potential of the no-input mixing board, using feedback and interference as tools to generate unpredictable, layered sound environments.

Through this practice, she explores the edge between control and contingency, where systems begin to surpass intention, navigating the tension between structure and unpredictability through ongoing disruption.

Júlia Koffler Júlia Koffler is a vocalist and sound artist from Hungary, currently based in Berlin.

Her work is informed by vocal research, an interest in timbre and technology, and the relationship between voice and its varied cultural articulations, taking shape through different formats such as installation, video, spatial audio pieces and performance. Her live shows comprise a use of voice and extended vocal techniques, tape, and electronics to explore how vocal expression and its technological mediation unfold in a spatial setting.

Her debut solo album Ostium was released in April by Prensa Manual.
