About this event

A laid-back summer gathering from Pappafunk & Friends at Homestead Cafe on 19 June, set in a large courtyard and terrace built for long, easy afternoons into evening.

Strictly vinyl throughout, with Pappafunk joined by Joy in Repetition and Roy Westfield, moving through funk, soul, disco, and feel-good cuts with a focus on warmth, rhythm, and good energy.

This one’s family friendly and dog friendly—an open, relaxed space where music sits alongside conversation, food, and sunshine. Expect feel-good selections, dusty grooves, and uplifting records designed for sharing time outdoors rather than locking into a club mindset.

With some of the best pizza in town on hand, it’s a simple formula: records, food, courtyard vibes, and a crowd that’s there for the hang as much as the music. FREE ENTRY!!!

Lineup

Pappafunk

His all-vinyl sets dive deep across genres—funk, soul, house, jazz, reggae, hip-hop, disco, and leftfield club sounds—blending eras and energies to create timeless, groove-heavy experiences rooted in feeling, not trends. With a signature style built on precision, depth, and instinct, PappaFunk delivers proper selections that connect with dancers, heads, and casual listeners alike. No gimmicks, no shortcuts—just soulful, analog DJing that moves the room and keeps the culture alive. He’s performed at respected venues including Shoreditch House, BBE Store, Jumbi, Café 1001, Omeara, and Jazu, and was a featured at ADE and Creekside Festival in 2024. As a resident at AAJA Music, he curates a monthly radio show showcasing rare grooves and global gems. On Twitch, his weekly livestreams (under PTV) have built a loyal international following, earning him collaborations with artists like Dez Andrés and Delano Smith, and co-signs from legends like Maurice Fulton and DJ Sneak. PappaFunk’s deep knowledge, effortless versatility, and analog approach set him apart—whether he’s in a 200-cap basement, your local boozer or a festival setting. He brings intention and soul to every set, with a focus on curation, energy, and connection.

ROY WESTFIELD

ROY WESTFIELD Roy Westfield is a London-born DJ and creative whose musical journey began in South East London, playing drums in school and church bands before immersing himself in sound system culture as a teenager. He went on to DJ with Vidus Touch, a London-based reggae and soul sound system, hosting events across the capital. In his early 20s, influenced by London’s rave culture, Roy co-founded the Deep Soul Connection collective alongside fellow DJ Pappafunk. The collective focused on connecting the dots of soulful, Black-rooted music across genres without restriction, earning a strong reputation through a weekly show on pirate station Unknown FM and a monthly residency at Brixton’s Hobgoblin (now Hootananny). Alongside music, Roy built a successful creative career, eventually stepping away from DJing to focus on family and to found the premium Japanese-made denim brand Snake & Dagger, working internationally with leading fashion retailers. Never losing his connection to music, Roy continued collecting vinyl—still his preferred format— and has since returned to London’s underground scene. In recent years, he has worked closely with house music artist Wbeeza in a management and consultancy capacity, alongside involvement with Third Ear Recordings. He has also been seen DJing at BBE Store, Ronnie Scott’s, and various events with Marcia Carr (Marcia da Vinyl MC), as well as continuing long-standing collaborations with the Pappafunk.
