About this event

MIM 130: 1st June - Pride Month Panel with Soul Girl Collective

What to Expect Music Industry Mondays (MIM) is a free weekly event series held every Monday, bringing artists, creatives, and industry professionals together with guest speakers from across the music industry. Each session explores a different area of the business - from artists and managers to labels, festivals, publishing, marketing, and beyond. Expect honest insight, practical advice, and real-world experience, followed by an open mic and open Q&A.

Meet This Week’s Guests Emmavie is a British-Nigerian singer, songwriter and producer known for blending soulful R&B, alternative sounds and deeply personal storytelling. Since emerging independently, Emmavie has built an international audience through her genre-fluid sound, self-produced releases and collaborations across music and culture.

Alongside her work as an artist, she is recognised for championing authenticity, creativity and independent artistry, using music as a space for self-expression and connection. Her work has earned support from tastemakers including BBC Radio 1, COLORS and international music platforms, positioning her as one of the UK’s most distinctive independent voices.

Karen Nyame KG is a DJ, broadcaster and curator celebrated for her vibrant sets spanning R&B, Afrobeats, dancehall, amapiano and club culture. A respected voice across UK radio and live music spaces, Karen has built a reputation for championing diverse sounds, underground talent and community-led music experiences.

Alongside performing internationally, Karen is passionate about representation and creating inclusive spaces within music and nightlife culture. Through broadcasting, live events and creative collaborations, she continues to amplify emerging voices while shaping conversations around identity, culture and connection within the industry.

Meet This Week’s Collaboration Soul Girl Collective is a community-led platform championing women, non-binary, and queer creatives across music and culture. Focused on connection, visibility, and empowerment, the collective creates safe and inclusive spaces for artists and industry professionals to share experiences, collaborate, and grow.

Through events, conversations, and community initiatives, Soul Girl Collective amplifies underrepresented voices and encourages honest dialogue around identity, creativity, and navigating the music industry.

Whether you’re an aspiring artist, producer, executive, or creative entrepreneur, this is your opportunity to hear directly from industry leaders, ask questions, and connect with the LCCM community.
