About this event

After two standout editions, Modus Festival returns to push the boundaries even further. What started as a bold vision in 2024 has evolved into one of Hamburg’s most forward-thinking electronic music gatherings.

Once again set on the iconic 45Hertz open-air grounds, Modus will elevate its immersive experience with refined stage design, innovative visual concepts, and a lineup curated to showcase some of the most inspiring and influential voices in contemporary electronic music. From deep, hypnotic journeys to powerful peak-time moments, every set is crafted to shape an experience that resonates long after the festival ends.

We continue to build on that foundation, growing a space where creativity flows, friendships form, and every beat draws you deeper into the now. And as always, the experience doesn’t end at sunset. Our legendary after-party at Uebel & Gefährlich will carry the Modus energy into the early morning hours, extending the night into a realm where time feels suspended.

Modus Festival 2026 marks a new chapter in our story. A tribute to progress, community, and the shared energy that brings us together.

The moment is now.

Lineup

Âme

Berlin-based duo (Frank Wiedemann & Kristian Beyer) of Innervisions, known for hypnotic, deep house and techno that blurs genre lines.

Extrawelt

Living and breathing electronic music for what has now been twenty years, Arne Schaffhausen and Wayan Raabe have carved out a piece of its history and showed us that in the vast spectrum of dance music, where the normal world ends, Extrawelt begins. Starting out as DJ’s, they found their pathway to production in the studio of fellow Hamburg natives, X-Dream. The inspiration they took away from these initial sessions soon pollinated into projects such as ‘Midimiliz', and ‘Spirallianz’; both of which gained remarkable success in the scene. However, it was in 2005 that they started a new project by the name of Extrawelt — marking a new musical trajectory. The very first production under this new moniker, `Soopertrack ́ found itself in the hands of James Holden, who then released it on his revered Border Community label. This breakthrough single would pave the way for an exceptional career that includes a plethora of records, remixes and countless live shows at the most interesting clubs and festivals around the globe. With their debut album ’Schöne Neue Extrawelt’ garnering attention on both the dance floor and in the media, it was a telling sign of things to come when voted “Best Album 2008” by Groove Magazine and both “Best Album” and “Best Live Act” for the same year in Raveline. As 2011 rolled around, so too did their second album ‘In Aufruhr’ which was also released on Sven Väth’s label Cocoon Recordings and was as equally acclaimed as the first. Adding to the list of notable publications is Faze Magazine, whose readers’ poll awarded them “Best Live Act in 2014” — not surprising considering their live act has been defining them for over a decade and leaving permanent impressions on audiences everywhere. For the duo, each and every show is a chance to manipulate their sound in a flow of measured spontaneity — all while using gear that most people would keep tucked away in their studio. The result is a live-act focussed on purism and great care in presenting the deepest core of their sound — in essence; exactly what sums up their musical galaxy.

Stephan Bodzin

After starting out by composing music for several prestigious European theaters, Stephan Bodzin soon fell in love with nocturnal club sounds and began producing his own brand of techno. He impressed right from the off and has gone on to work with Marc Romboy many times, including on albums like “Luna” and more recently “Kerberos & Styx” in 2014, and with Oliver Huntemann under myriad aliases including Rekorder. The fruits of these labors have defined the modern techno scene until today. “Throughout my releases and all my collaborations I managed to let my ideas flow freely and to develop my own style,” Stephan Bodzin explains, and he proved that with 2007’s debut album, “Liebe Ist…” and the many other original productions that have followed, such as 2014’s single ‘Sungam’, which sat at number four on the RA charts, and his massive remix of Super Flu’s “Jo Gurt” in the same year. Stephan Bodzin productions are driving, hypnotic things with a very real and memorable sense of melody that sticks long in the mind. Of course, running his own Herzblut label has also defined his career since 2006, and as well as being a place for his own work, has also housed refreshing contemporary music from Dominik Eulberg, Max Cooper and Pig&Dan amongst many more. In the club, meanwhile, Stephan Bodzin is both a story telling DJ who really takes dance floors on a ride through his many musical influences, but is also an impressive live specialist who creates mesmerizing, high impact soundtracks on the fly. Across all continents, there is barely a club or festival in the world worth its salt that he hasn’t headlined at some point or other. 2015 will see this Bremen mastermind release his second full length, “Powers of Ten”, as well as a new single on DJ Tennis’ and Tale of Us’ taste making label Life & Death. The album is another magical piece of work that focuses on melody and rhythm, on fat bass and vivid sound design and is a truly captivating journey through the mind, music, body and soul of one of dance music’s truly modern greats. It is just the latest chapter in what has been an exhilarating musical journey in the capable and creative hands of Stephan Bodzin.

Tommahawk

Tommahawk is a breakout name in the German techno scene and continues to make her mark on international stages. With over 140 shows across the past two years, her journey has led her from renowned clubs such as E1 London, Mia Mao Paris and Pratersauna Vienna to major festival stages including SonneMondSterne, Airbeat One and Oneiro Festival in Costa Rica. Her sound combines powerful basslines with an intense, positive energy, pulling crowds into a driving flow of rhythm and euphoria. This same energy shapes her productions: her debut track “Unfolding” reached #1 in the charts and got remixed by Thomas Schumacher. Followed by EPs on Terminal M mark her steady artistic growth. Whether on club floors or in front of 250,000 ravers at the Rave The Planet Parade in Berlin, Tommahawk creates moments full of power and emotion that resonate far beyond the dancefloor. With new international shows, including her first Asia tour and a fourth rebooking to South America, she continues her journey into 2026 with clear momentum.

MikAH

Cats, cookies & confetti! MikAH, known far and wide, has been trouble-making in Hamburg’s techno scene since 2010. It doesn’t matter if he’s a DJ or playing host at his passionately crafted ‚Heimatmeldie‘ parties – he knows how to create an intimate atmosphere. It starts in the ears, goes to the legs, and ends deep in the heart – MikAH’s sound isn’t subject to any genre limits. Inspired by the crowd, the atmosphere in the club, and his own emotion, his record case is full of surprises. His playing will transcend senses, shake the dance floor, and leave deep impressions in your mind. You could describe him as dramatic, brave, creative, and driven by melody as well as a lot of blood, sweat and tears. MikAH lives his music and is skillful at transferring this passion to the crowd. Where words cease, music starts – and along these lines MikAH has a lot to offer.

Her performances are shaped by a deep sense of freedom, connection, and vulnerability.
