About this event
Two summers ago, Mélange was born in a student dorm room between Switzerland & Australia.
What started as a radio show has blossomed into a global platform where artists collaborate, exchange ideas & connect in all four corners of the globe.
Come celebrate our second birthday Friday 26th June as we blow out our candles in the capital. On the bill, we travel far and close to bring you a world class programming, one time only at one of the best spaces in the country. Venue M.O.T welcomes Austro/finnish royalty of @sansibar & @sophiemcalister with our friends @ysanne, @theo.g, @gabrielgriffith and @melangerlemiel playing from the front to the back & back to the front.

Sansibar
Galactic funk streamlined in succession of outlined parameters. Symbiotic dreams of effervescent moments. Sansibar steers this ship through intuitive impulses that are cut deep in the flesh, with the extension of his thoughts and process audible via labels such as Kalahari Oyster Cult, Darknet, Émotsiya, Natural Sciences and his own imprint, Sin Sistema. As a live performer, the Sansibarian take on things is raw and beautiful, pinned down by a steady drum machine pulse singing in unison with flailing efx’d out synths. On the disc jockey side of things an anything goes approach can be sensed, although a 100% adherence to groove is certain. With no bounds, Sophie has been liberally firing jams at dance floors all over Melbourne for the past couple of years – working closely with Crown Ruler and Rhythm Section families, but always being a musical friend to all.
