About this event
MIAAN NIGHTS returns to Arkaoda — this time with an evening of free improvisation, jazz, electronic and sonic experimentation.
10or Trio merges improvised jazz with Iranian musical motifs and the textures of Dastgah music, blending synthesizers, sound experimentation, and electronic manipulation into an exploratory live performance.
As a prelude to the evening, the night kicks off with a deep ambient opening set by Gabb, bringing together field recordings, Neue Musik, and jazz experimentation
The band 10or Møsaic will also be joined by two surprise guest vocalists: Astan Ka and Parham Alizadeh — bringing different languages and vocal approaches into the equation.
Tarxun expands the sonic landscape through synthesis and live electronic experimentation, while Milad Zendehnam explores the mosaic of Dastgah and jazz on the guitar. Brendan Dougherty ties the whole constellation together on drums with dynamic and fluid improvisation.
Afterwards, AAMIROO closes the evening with a jazz and dub-influenced DJ set as a gentle relief and landing point after the live performances.
Lineup
AAMIROO
Playing a wide range of genres from bass to breaks, AAMIROO adopts a more genre-fluid approach to his music. among others AAMIROO integrates UK club as well as percussive sounds in his sets. Currently a resident at Refuge Worldwide, he focuses on covering music from different genres and the social and cultural themes they evoke. AAMIROO is presently experimenting with introducing Iran's underrated early 2000s pop music to modern electronic dance music through a project called "SAHNEHTRONIX" alongside other genre-blending projects that attempt to fuse traditional and present-day sounds.
GABB [BRILLO LENTA]
Tarxun
Music of tarxun tastes like tarragon smeared across the inside of your skull—fresh, electric, and unsettlingly sharp. This architect of psychedelic IDM twists glitchy beats, relentless bass, and broken breaks until rhythms turn liquid through your cochlea.
