About this event

"The Utrecht event continues to challenge its audience and expand the parameters of what a festival can be" – Resident Advisor

With the motto of Listening is the Way Forward, Le Guess Who? is widely considered to be one of the most forward-thinking festivals around, celebrated for presenting groundbreaking music in inspiring ways.

Here, artists from all over the world offer new perspectives on what is possible in music and, collectively, provide insight into the awe-inspiring diversity of human creativity.

Lineup

Aba Shanti-I

Legendary UK sound-system operator and dub reggae selector, revered for his thunderous bass-heavy sets spanning three decades.

Azu Tiwaline

Azu Tiwaline is a producer inspired by the need to explore her origins, rooted in the Sahara. Her sound is a mix of the organic and the raw, vibrations from the spaces of the desert where entrancing music resonates and ecstatic rituals are commonplace.

CARISTA

Utrecht-based DJ and United Identities boss, known for her unmatched energy and electric selections spanning broken beat, house, and soul.

Chinnamasta

Chinnamasta is an Amsterdam based Caribbean DJ and sonic / cultural researcher, with DJing being an extension of her practice, research and presentation.  She is mostly interested in the cross pollination of sonic landscapes and cultures between peoples. Her sets are layered, eclectic, energetic and flavourful. Linking to histories, presents and futures through rhythms, archives, samples, vocals and bass from across the Afro Diaspora; traveling the sonic journey of the Atlantic, Indian and Caribbean. She is particularly interested in the murky, dutty streets of the global black underground and aims to showcase her beauty as is: Raw, unfiltered, uncut and unsterilised. Chinnamasta, meaning the goddess of Death, Rebirth and contradictions,  is on the quest to recover and uncover the significant impact and influence of Caribbean music worldwide, and the cross pollination of cultures within the post-colonial Afro Diasporic sonic global culture.

ojoo

ojoo is a brussels-based, moroccan-born musician, selector and organiser whose work hits where sound, politics and community collide, all shaped by mighty physical bass weight. they’re part of psst, an intersectional feminist collective, and co-builder of the pssound system, a fully DIY rig built from the ground up by and for marginalised genders. not a flex, but an act of resistance. plywood, wires, community. raised on bootleg CD culture and shaped by constraint, ojoo found their voice in the pressure zones between dubplate and distortion. no clean lines, no polite transitions. just raw blends, concrete rhythms, sirens, and silence. they’ve played unsound, out.fest, dekmantel, but you’re just as likely to hear them rinsing bass weight at warehouse squat parties or partaking dub EQ workshops off the grid. regular radio on kiosk (brussels) and noods (bristol) lets them build out their world besides the dancefloor. they also curate nights, bringing their vision to venues and festivals; their latest shows in 2025 were at Botanique and Listen Festival, inviting artists to their hometown including Dali de Saint Paul, Grove, DJ Marcelle, Shackleton, Demdike Stare, and more. ojoo doesn’t play music to pay homage, they live it, twist it, and push it to rupture. every set is a terrain of pressure: political, sonic, personal.

NEXCYIA

His work might be described as outsider ambient, blending underground experimental music with sound design, textural soundscapes, and sound mangling techniques. Moving through shifting moods and emotional registers, he explores themes of otherness and belonging. Through dense layering and continuous audio manipulation, he creates ever-evolving pieces that draw listeners into a sonic journey, eschewing the over-visited constraints of a tempo grid. Dove holds an MA in Contemporary Art Practice from the Royal College of Art and a BA in Sound Arts & Sound Design from University of the Arts London. Working across performance and installation, he approaches sound as a spatial material - composing with proximity, acoustics, and the room’s own noise floor to create focused listening situations that are both deeply present and intangible. His ongoing installation work INTER(FEAR)ENCE explores how fear can operate like an invisible filter: shaping perception, separation, and what becomes audible across social boundaries, inviting audiences into simultaneous perspectives and a heightened awareness of the sonification of race and the racialization of listening. He seeks to unsettle fixed perspectives and positions, creating works that are both deeply present and intangible. Having performed and shown work at many venues, contemporary art spaces and festivals across the UK and Europe, including locations such as the Barbican Centre, Institute of Contemporary Art, Cafe OTO, Chisenhale Gallery, Whitechapel Gallery and much more. NEXCYIA has established a notable presence in the ambient music scene with features on 180 FACT, The Wire, The Quietus, Crack Magazine as well as, appearances on NTS Radio and BBC Radio 6. NEXCYIA has performed with the likes of Caterina Barbieri, Kali Malone and Astride Sonne, and was a resident at the Cité internationale des arts in Paris and was part of SHAPE+ Platform 23/24. Label releases include: Labege via Good Morning Tapes (2025) Exodus via Haunter Records (2024) Endless Path of Memory via Pensaments Sonics /Hivern Discs (2024) Crawl via Alien Jams (2020) Origin via Cafe OTO’s label Takuroku (2020) Self-releases can be found on Bandcamp + Nina
