For the 125th anniversary of Berlin’s central public library, the courtyard of the Berliner Stadtbibliothek (ZLB) will transform into a dance floor for the very first time.

From 8pm–10pm, Berlin-based DJ heimlich maneuver will take over the decks. The evening offers a rare chance to ease into Saturday night in one of Berlin’s most unexpected settings: dancing under the open sky in the courtyard of a library before heading deeper into the city’s nightlife.

Earlier in the evening (7pm), author Leif Randt will read from his latest novel Let’s Talk About Feelings for anyone looking to start the night with a bit of literary culture before the music begins.

A summer evening between books, beats and Berlin nightlife — and probably the only legal rave in a library you’ll attend this year.

heimlich maneuver is a Berlin-based DJ known for her percussive, genre-fluid sound that moves effortlessly between moods and tempos, creating a distinct dance-floor energy. She has presented her carefully curated selections at venues and platforms such as Kater Blau, Fusion Festival, Mensch Meier, Objekt Klein A (Dresden), Kulturhafen (Hannover) and Noh Radio (Istanbul), solidifying her presence in the underground electronic music scene.

Her journey as a DJ is deeply intertwined with a passion for fostering inclusive spaces and vibrant dance floors. As a core member of the collective Rosa Brisante, she actively contributes to forward-thinking parties and festivals across Vienna and Berlin, cultivating a community-driven approach to club culture focused on diversity and sonic exploration.

Her mixes and live recordings offer a glimpse into her ability to blend hypnotic grooves with unexpected sonic twists — bridging the past, present and future of dance music.
