About this event

I remember those afternoons. Rooms filled with smoke and vibrations. Sunlight sifting through the windows. Dancing bodies, drifting in and out of focus. Strangers smiling at each other like old friends.

Galen

GALEN, one of the great living pillars of West Coast dance music, San Francisco’s own true hero and legend. His creation and shared evolution of Sunset Sound System has quite literally catapulted a localized scene into the global sphere. Which has since magnetically attracted the world’s top DJs & producers to the west, playing for the Sunset annuals, boat parties, & Campout Festival. These events are notorious for truly establishing and holding the gold standard in sound and production, fixing a rooted and veritable pride that is immediately palpable. As a preeminent organizer, GALEN is the force that brings the experience into crystallized perfection.

And within this historic landscape, his dedication to the craft of djing has not wavered. By playing his extensive vinyl collection at renegade and warehouse parties of the 90s and 2000s, GALEN has honed his own proficiency —ranging from deep acid house to rare disco in a fluid signature sound, known for assertive mixing techniques inspired by each discerning dancefloor. His rich and precise taste has also neatly translated into his own studio productions, having contributed tracks to labels peppered across the globe. Currently, his latest 2 tracker with Justin Martin landed at #1 in Beatport’s House charts, and his Culprit Records EP hit top 5 for Deep House. Need we say more?

When this veritable stalwart is not firmly holding court in his native SF, you can find him touring Europe’s music festivals in summer and rocking pivotal events in North America; having just headlined Lightening in Bottle and he continues to curate stages at Love International festival in Croatia and Bulgaria’s notorious Meadows In The Mountains festival. You can find his latest EP, 'Magic Bus' out now on WhatToDo Records.

Pieter Jansen

Whether he’s inspiring dancers from the DJ booth or broadcasting on the radio, Pieter Jansen is a familiar face on Amsterdam’s thriving underground electronic music scene – a fixture at all annual Draaimolen events and a resident & programmer at the notable Breakfast Club in Amsterdam. Over the past few years, Pieter launched two imprints: yeyeh (short for “You’re Everything You’ve Ever Heard”), a lovingly curated outlet for intriguing, engaging, and inspiring music both old and new; and ninih, the night to yeyeh’s day, an imprint focused on rather rhythmical, club-ready sounds. Through these outputs, Pieter alternately puts out unreleased music by producers from the past (the 90s/00s) while also shedding light onto producers of today. Bubbling away beneath the surface of the Dutch scene since the early part of the past decade, Jansen began his career by promoting parties and festivals before dedicating more time to DJing. Jansen chose to champion vinyl from the start. It’s almost impossible to pin Jansen to a specific style or scene; instead, he’s cultivated a personal DJ style that prioritises darker, weirder, and more profound records while remaining firmly focused on the dancefloor. Known for taking risks – both in creating thoroughly inspired mixes and by his chosen records – His style is defined by his ability to explore multiple genres while regularly reaching for electro, IDM, house/techno, ambient and minimalist grooves.

Idilay

As a classically trained musician, Idilay’s roots in music run deep. She began playing the violin at just four years old, and her musical upbringing also included piano and viola. This laid the foundation for the unique sound she brings to her sets today. Idilay’s mixing style is defined by playing tracks with a longer structure, making storytelling a central element. Whether she’s playing warm house cuts, gritty breakbeats or acid-laced rhythms, each set is a carefully built journey. With a deep appreciation for the grooves of 90’s house, she channels that same energy and nostalgia into her performances. With her intricate mixing style, she has been making a name for herself by playing Amsterdam venues like Bret, Sissi’s, TillaTec and Raum, and last summer she even crossed the Dutch border for her Berlin debut.
