About this event

The Dystopia Sound Art Biennial 2026 presents three distinctive voices examining the intersection of human experience, collective memory, and sonic expression across diverse cultural contexts. Tintin Patrone brings MUSIKONG BUMBONG expanded, a sound performance utilizing 9–19 handmade bamboo instruments to explore Philippine revolutionary brass traditions while interrogating how collective practices shape identity through technology and non-human performers. Alongside her, Staffan Westerlund's Trivialities and War creates a 25-minute soundscape where personal intimacy meets the constant backdrop of global conflict through voice and harmonica, while Lisa W Carlson's interactive multimedia installation Imagine Human! weaves together post-WWII photography with bodily sounds to invite visitors into fragmented narratives connecting memory, sound, and physical presence.
