Ghadr - غدر

This trio is made up of three highly regarded Lebanese artists: Sandy Chamoun, Anthony Sahyoun, both members of the iconic band SANAM, alongside Jad Atoui, himself a highly regarded musician, composer, and electronic sound experimentalist in Lebanon.

Writing for this project began during a residency in 2023 and was later completed in their home city of Beirut. The work has only been performed a handful of times across Lebanon and Saudi Arabia in 2024, and Europe in 2025. This will be the first performance in Germany, and is certain to be a special one.

James Gui, Ley Lines, Bandcamp Daily wrote;

"Beirut scene stalwarts Anthony Sahyoun and Sandy Chamoun (SANAM) join forces with electroacoustic artist Jad Atoui in a reckoning with tradition that’s fueled by stuttering sub bass, searing guitar textures, and layers of melancholy vocals. Chamoun’s ghostly rendition of “Tahal Layl”—a Bedouin folk song—floats atop drones that expand into a blistering modular onslaught; “Al Moulatham,” on the other hand, interpolates reflections by Yousef al Domouky on the genocide in Gaza over glitchy, Tim Hecker-esque ambient swells. Ghadr exhorts us to listen to both violence and repair, mobilizing tradition to face an uncertain future."

Aalia aka Aalia Iraki (dj)

Joining us for our event is one of our favourite DJs in the Berlin scene, Aalia Iraki. Rooted in emotion, storytelling, and deep listening, her sets move fluidly across genres — from downtempo and ambient textures to hypnotic percussion, breaks, and leftfield electronics — always guided by mood and feeling.

Coming up through Berlin’s DIY party culture, she has developed a warm and immersive approach to DJing, with sets that unfold patiently and intuitively. She is also the host of Within Those Four Chambers on Refuge Worldwide, a radio show exploring the relationship between music, memory, and space — where each episode inhabits a different visual setting inviting listeners into intimate, multi sensory listening journeys.

Forming in 2023, the Berlin based Irish duo have been honing their sound and steadily, developing their sound within Berlin's DIY and community scene.

Touching on many elements of experimental sounds, the duo's productions and performances features manipulated samples and raw field recordings and tape loops. With an emphasis on live improvisation, a gleo performance feels intimate and heartfelt.

The duo have recently been joined by drummer, Oli Knight which has driven their set into a more structured, traditional format.
