A Little Sound

Maybe you’ve had your ears perked by her dreamy vocal hooks, or perhaps you’ve seen her Tik-Toks spreading the word about drum and bass. Either way, there’s a lot to love about this exciting talent. While still in her early twenties, A Little Sound has already been responsible for the vocals behind some of D&B’s biggest anthems in recent years; including “Back In Time” with Kanine, “Weed & Wine” with Friction and “Lakota” with duo Technimatic.
Despite being lauded for her vocal work, which saw A Little Sound land 1st place in DrumandBassArena’s 2022 Award for Best Vocalist, this artist has always had the ambition to be more. Singer, writer, DJ, MC, stage host – you name it, she’s pushing to do it all.
Following on from releasing her debut EP and solo single, along with many vocal features and live performances to come, you can expect A Little Sound to only get louder as time goes on.

ALISHA

In recent years ALISHA has built a burgeoning reputation in the UK house music scene, originating from Peterborough—a city not commonly associated with house music talent, ALISHA bucks the trend. ALISHA is meticulous in her approach and this is reflected in the calibre of labels she is signed to which include Kaluki, Eastenderz with her hit EP ‘Visions’ and arguably her biggest release to date titled ‘Changes’ on premier tech house imprint Hot Creations, receiving support from across the industry and on heavy rotation at BBC Radio 1. ALISHA’s sound is underpinned by sultry deep rumbling low-end basslines, driving grooves and stripped-back percussion. This has seen her playing for Jamie Jones’ Paradise at Amnesia countless times in the past few years, debuts for MusicOn, Creamfields and a momentous b2b with underground purveyor East End Dubs at his Eastenderz party. If this wasn’t enough ALISHA has played for Paradise at the mammoth Drumsheds, ANTS Ushuaïa, Elrow shows worldwide, Glastonbury and Warehouse Project with the list ever-growing. Further fuel to ALISHA’s fire is the support from the elite tier of artists across house music Jamie Jones, East End Dubs, Seb Zito, Toman & More. Along the way gaining the affection of BBC Radio 1 DJs Danny Howard, Pete Tong and Sarah Story including delivering a mini mix for dance music legend Annie Mac. A far cry from ALISHA's humble Peterborough beginnings, one thing is certain ALISHA is set to firmly stamp her presence on house music for years to come.

ALT8

Drawing tangible inspiration from the early 2000s hard techno & groove hiatus, Evan Marshall’s artistry continues to blossom as time goes on. Having exposed himself to electronic music at barely 10 years old by ‘borrowing’ his older brother’s discs, a young Alt8 (as he would later become known) was set onto the musical pathway at the conclusion of his formative years. After witnessing his older brother performing at an event just a few years later, he began cutting his teeth playing a mixture of hip hop & dance music throughout Ireland. His taste for a myriad of genres mean that his DJing stylings incorporate multiple sectors of music, mixing between ‘moments’ as opposed to just ‘music’. On a given day, anyone who will see him perform can expect a collection of industrial, groove, rave or big melodies - all fused with distinct hard techno drums to create a uniquely memorable atmosphere. It goes without saying that Alt8 is a representation of musical diversity - and it’s something that definitively sets him apart from those around him. Whilst DJing remained a distinct passion of his, he eventually began to make his own productions in 2019 following an awakening to the vibrancy of the techno genre, drawing influence from old school hard techno when devising drum sequences. That isn’t to say that melodies are left out in the cold; rather they are delicately paired with the harder, industrial elements in certain tracks - as can be seen most prominently on his ‘Hope in Darkness’ EP on Manchester’s ‘Moments In Time’ imprint that reached #1 on Beatport’s hard techno chart. With many releases to his name already, some key highlights include his debut EP in 2020 on T-Minus Records (featuring a remix from Sara Landry), a remix he produced for techno titan Rebekah that was played by some of the scene’s most respected names, and his ‘Nineninefour’ track that released on Belgium’s ‘Rave Alert’. It was however his marked growth in 2021 that really has elevated Alt8 to the next stage of his career; a year that culminated in him releasing ‘Mind Control’ on DYEN’S ‘Reckless’ label. The high-octane, groovy thumper that whilst being a bit different to his usual productions, garnered the respect and support of the industry heavyweights. Prior to it being formally released, videos from select DJs playing the track who were lucky enough to have it begun circulating online - unsurprisingly, the ID requests were overwhelming to the point that it simply had to be released. Having utilised his recent years to fine tune his talents as both a producer and a DJ, it’s quite clear to those who know Alt8 that he’s firmly headed in the right direction as an artist. For those who haven’t yet gotten to know him, they certainly will soon.

DJ Q

A prolific artist well-known for his relentless work rate, and six year stint as a DJ on BBC Radio 1Xtra, DJ Q’s speedy, characteristic sound first gained notoriety via his 2007 bassline smash hit ‘U Wot’, but it’s his tireless schedule that’s kept him secure in the minds of the record buying public. To date, DJ Q has over one hundred productions and remixes under his belt, his solo album, ‘Ineffable’, was released on Local Action in 2014, the collaborative TQD album, ‘UKG’, dropped in 2017, and his ‘All Night’ album was released earlier this year. Recent tracks ‘Time To Shine’ and ‘Rock Wit You’ with Jack Junior are the latest additions to what’s become an incredible discography, and heading into summer with a benchmark compilation series to his name, Q’s enthusiasm shows no sign of waning. It’s in the live arena that DJ Q’s technical ability and passion for the music really shines through. In autumn 2017 he launched the live project, ‘All Night’, a show that he toured for 9 days straight (totaling more than 50 hours playing time), and during which he dug deep into his archives, spinning a meld of house, garage, bassline, jungle and more. He has touched music fans globally securing tours in Europe, Asia with vision to add Australia, New Zealand & N. America in 2019.

D.O.D.

Dr Banana

Dr.B’s roots are in UKG, growing a globally-recognised label slinging out toasty cuts from new producers and re-issues from the golden era, but this is just a slither of the London-born DJ’s eclectic collection. You only need to flick through his recent bumper to bumpers to see how far and wide he can go. Whether it’s meaty chunks of electro, techno, and minimal with Evan Baggs, cross-genre party starters alongside Bradley Zero, straight shellers with Interplanetary Criminal, or just throwing it down alone, he’ll bring a bag of belters whatever the weather, wherever the crowd. After establishing himself as one of the UK’s most in-demand selectors, the London-born DJ has taken operations worldwide. From the floating intimacy of Berlin’s Hoppetosse to the sheer scale of Glastonbury, Fabric’s brutal brickwork to the iconic caverns of Kiev’s Art Club Closer and Mkvtvarse in Georgia – local, national, and global venues are the workshops for Dr. B’s versatile trotters. If he’s not getting his stirling’s worth out of a treasured travel pillow, playing venues and festivals across the UK and beyond, you’ll find him shooting three-pointers, digging into next week, or kickin’ it in front of the box with a moderately-priced pho.

Marc Kinchen

Revered producer, remixer and DJ, MK’s storied background is one of long-term creative development. His roots are pure Detroit, but if you dig a little deeper you will find that MK’s musical path is made up of seamless transitions from house and techno to hip-hop and R&B, only to return to house during recent years. MK is currently finalizing his long awaited artist album, which includes collaborations with vocalists Becky Hill, Milly Pye, Anabel Englund, and a host of others yet to be revealed. Incredibly, MK’s discography includes over 500 titles that bear the stamp of his signature style. These tracks range from his iconic worldwide hits to the underground aficionado’s secret dancefloor weapon. As a teenager growing up amidst a tough industrial landscape in Detroit, he found his way into the studio with the city’s nascent techno legends Juan Atkins, Derrick May and Kevin Saunderson. Those early studio sessions provided MK with the lessons and tools he needed to make timeless tracks like ‘The Rains,’ ‘Burning,’ ‘Always,’ and more. By the mid 1990s, Marc had become thego-to guy for killer club mixes, thanks in part to the monumental success of his million plus-selling ‘Push The Feeling On’ remix for The Nightcrawlers, which in reality was more of a complete overhaul of the song. In 2013, MK would do the same for ‘See Right Through’ by Storm Queen, which went to #1 in the UK singles chart. Soon after the worldwide success of ‘Push The Feeling On,’ the remix offers from major and indie labels rolling it, and tracks like his refix of ‘Freek N You’ for Jodeci, ‘Misled’ for Celine Dion, ‘The Best Things In Life Are Free’ for Janet Jackson, ‘Can You Forgive Her’ for Pet Shop Boys, as well as remixes for Mary J., Jody Watley, M People, M.A.W., Blondie, and Brandy were released. Following this, his desire to explore other genres of music led him to delve into hip-hop, R&B and ultimately pop. During this time, he worked with Will Smith, Quincy Jones, Diane Warren, Tyrese, Brandy, and Pitbull to name a few. It was a chance connection with Jamie Jones and Lee Foss that led to MK’s return to dance music. Following the success of his Stormqueen, Marc’s hot streak continued with tracks like ‘Forward Motion’ for Hot Natured, Lana Del Ray’s ‘Blue Jeans’ and ‘Summertime Sadness,’ his masterful UK #4 remix for Wankelmut’s ‘My Head Is A Jungle,’ and mixes for Sam Smith, Pharrell, Paloma Faith, Ellie Goulding, Disclosure, Haim, Mary J. Blige, Diplo, Rudimental, and many more. With this homecoming to dance music, MK returned as a DJ as well as producer. On the live front, MK’s signature chopped up, piano-laden sound started to become very recognized, and he has since become one of house music’s most popular DJs in the world. With his sights set on the imminent album release, MK recently re-launched his iconic label and event brand Area10. He is currently on tour this summer with his Area10 Warm Up Sessions, including live stages at Creamfields, We Are FSTVL, dates at Together at Amnesia, Camp Bisco, V Festivals, Parklife as well as an Area10 takeover at Pacha Ibiza and numerous North American club dates.

Pendulum

Formed during 2002 by three musicians from Western Australia with similar visions and musical backgrounds, Pendulum’s mission has always been to pull together their production resources, ideas and influences from various styles of music, to create a new sound that they felt was missing from dance music. The individual members behind Pendulum had been active in Perth’s live music scene for several years: producer / vocalist / keyboardist Rob Swire and producer / bassist Gareth McGrillen played together in the acclaimed Perth band Xygen, while Paul ‘El Hornet’ Harding was a veteran of the Perth DJ scene. The initial result of the collaboration between the three was the seminal 'Vault', released on the highly respected 31 Records. 'Vault' went on to become one of the biggest anthems of 2003. This was confirmed when the track received the much sought after Knowledge Magazine award for 'Best Single of 2003'. ‘Vault’ was followed by a series of brilliant tracks including 'Trail of Sevens', 'Spiral' and 'Ulterior Motive', 'Back to You' and 'Still Grey' and a remix of 'Tonite' by Concord Dawn. Two heavyweight DJs that have supported the Pendulum sound ever since its creation were the legendary Adam F and the renowned DJ Fresh who asked Pendulum to join their recently formed Breakbeat Kaos label in order to form a tight crew of like minded musicians. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity; as a result towards the end of 2003 the trio relocated to the UK and have been touring the world extensively ever since in an attempt to generate further awareness around their unique sound. Pendulum’s debut single for Breakbeat Kaos, the epic 'Another Planet' backed with 'Voyager' exceeded any prior expectations. The single made its debut at #1 in the UK’s National Dance Chart and even went Top 40 in the mainstream chart. 2005 saw Pendulum release their debut artist album on Breakbeat Kaos, the highly acclaimed ‘Hold Your Colour’ that has gone on to sell in excess of 300,000 copies and spawned their first Top 30 hit in the shape of the single ‘Slam / Out Here’. The band’s full live experience (which adds guitarist Peredur ap Gwynedd, drummer Kodish and MC Verse to the core trio) also became an exciting prospect with a defining headline performance at Glastonbury’s Dance Stage being a particular highlight. By now the biggest artist on the underground, Pendulum aimed to continue their rise by signing a new deal with Warner Bros. Records / Ear Storm. Re-emerging with the fan favourite single ‘Granite’, it was the Radio 1 A-listed follow-up ‘Propane Nightmares’ that enabled Pendulum to leap into the mainstream. The band then followed a defining performance at Radio 1’s Big Weekend by seeing their second album ‘In Silico’ debut at #2 in the UK album charts. The album was certified Gold within a month of release and its success continued unabated over the summer months with a diverse array of festival appearances including Linkin Park and Jay-Z’s Projekt Revolution, Download, Creamfields, Reading / Leeds and T in the Park. Following a succession of sold-out London shows and a memorable performance on Later with Jools Holland, Pendulum’s momentum continued with their biggest UK headlining tour to date before an audience in excess of 50,000 people. Radio 1’s continuing support also included a special documentary on the band that aired over the Christmas period, while ‘In Silico’ approaches 300,000 sales in the UK alone. Pendulum have also been making huge strides towards breaking through in America having earned praise from the likes of Billboard (who described the band as a “breakneck brand of aural dynamite”) and the LA Times (“The electro-rock band evokes the Prodigy's sense of screaming, face-crushing bombast with savvy beats straight off the contemporary low-end-heavy zeitgeist”). Their debut US live tour featured thirteen sold-out shows from coast to coast, including a date at Los Angeles’ 1300 capacity Mayan Theater. Their tour also trekked into Brazil and Mexico. Their North American progress forged ahead with frenetic television appearances on Jimmy Kimmel and Carson Daly. Meanwhile, their continuing live popularity also received a succession of boosts with killer sets at Coachella and SXSW and their first ever headline appearance at Miami’s Ultra Music Festival. One of the most visceral and exhilarating live experiences around (“One of the most enthusiastic reactions afforded a main stage act in Big Day Out history,” observed Kerrang! “Phenomenal doesn’t even come close”), Pendulum’s highly acclaimed live performance has been captured in their ‘Live At Brixton’ CD / DVD set. Grammy nominated director Paul Caslin has created an awe-inspiring visual celebration of the band’s live experience that captures the fiery intensity of the audience’s impassioned reaction with a dazzling visual artistry never before seen in a live document. Early 2010 saw a change to the LIVE Pendulum set up with the addition of Seattle born drummer KJ Sawka. After some time spent writing their third studio album, Pendulum returned with 'Immersion' released in May 2010, which shot straight to No.1 in the UK Album Charts. The band followed this success with 2 Sold Out UK Tours, 2 huge shows at London's Wembley Arena, tours in Europe and Australia and a massive summer spent smashing the international festival circuit. At the beginning of 2011 the band headed to North America where they played as special guests on Linkin Park's 'A Thousand Suns US Arena Tour' followed by a run of their own headline tour dates across North America. They then returned home to Australia to headline the Future Music Festival, before heading into another summer of headline slots at festivals all over the UK and Europe, including the penultimate slot on the Pyramid stage at Glastonbury Festival, and headlining slots at Download Festival, T In The Park, V Festival and Bestival. At the end of 2011 Pendulum decided to take a well deserved break from their live shows, however Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen have been storming ahead with hugely successful side project ‘Knife Party’ and DJ El Hornet and MC Verse continue to spread the word of Pendulum throughout the world, appearing at a myriad of international clubs and festivals in 2012. Pendulum DJs will be on the road performing throughout the world in 2013, touring in South Africa, playing shows in Canada and the US alongside shows in Europe, Asia and Russia. For Pendulum and their enormous, international fan base, great things are to come…

Pola & Bryson

Whilst Harry (Bryson) grew up in rural West Yorkshire, Jack (Pola) spent his formative years in the heart of East London. These contrasting upbringings have shaped their music, manifesting as a truly unique signature sound that reflects the distinct contrast across their musical and artistic approaches. Their debut album This Time Last Year on their Soulvent Records imprint put the duo firmly on the map, and their sophomore album Lost In Thought on Shogun Audio was nominated for Best Album in the Drum&BassArena Awards. Beneath The Surface, their third album, dropped in September 2021 and showcased new heights of sonic expression, exploring musical interpretations of a journey through an imagined world. Since then, Pola & Bryson have released some of the most notable drum and bass tracks in recent years, most notably Phoneline, their collaboration with Emily Makis. This single captivated the entire scene, picking up immense streaming and radio support, as well as being dubbed by many as 2023’s D&B anthem. Alongside Phoneline, Waiting (with Sub Focus), Too Shy (with IYAMAH), Tell You What I Did ft. Zitah, and Down Low (with Gardna) have further cemented their position as one of the most exciting acts in UK dance music. On top of these scene-shattering releases, Pola & Bryson have also been nominated for multiple awards, remixed the likes of David Guetta, Moby, Wilkinson, High Contrast, and venbee, accumulated mass support from DSPs and radio, and have consistently toured their captivating DJ sets across all corners of the globe. Simply put, Pola & Bryson’s deeply rooted love for music makes it their primary creative outlet. Always striving to be inspired, innovate, and experiment, the duo have no final goal in music other than continuing to create what they enjoy. With their next major project around the corner and the most compelling music they’ve ever written still to come, the act that Sub Focus once claimed was “leading the new wave of liquid drum and bass” is ready to take centre stage. While most producers take years to write their next album, 2021 saw Pola & Bryson write and release their third studio album Beneath The Surface on Shogun Audio. A conceptual album written to an imagined landscape, this ambitious body of work has led to D&B legends such as Sub Focus praising their influence on the genre. With sophistication well beyond their years, Pola & Bryson are showing no signs of slowing down as they continue to take their music and performances to new heights. The massive success of Complete, Tell You What I Did ft. Zitah, and Into The Night in 2022 has now been followed by a feature on dance music superstar Sub Focus’ latest album and their recent collaboration with Emily Makis, Phoneline. The latter has already cemented itself as their biggest release to date, picking up immense streaming and radio support, as well as being dubbed by many as 2023’s D&B anthem.

Rossi

Rossi. is an exiting young producer, who is making a name for himself with his new fresh cut sounds. ‘Rossi.’s sets are inspired by the ever-growing ‘minimal groove scene’, in Europe. He plays music with the aim of lifting a crowd, his sets will feature lots of cuts, hats and percussion which is stripped down on-top of jazzy and soulful basslines. Musically he is inspired by the sounds of Archie Hamilton, Rossko, Djebali, Michael James, YYY Distributions and many more… In his first two years he made paved his way into the London club scene, playing gigs at Ministry Of Sound, Cargo, Lightbox, Basing House and Proud on a regular basis. Now three years later, he plays as a resident for F0RMS @ Fabric and has played famous parties such as ABODE, Solid Grooves, Zoo Project, Dawn and many more. Supporting the likes of East End Dubs, WAff, Andrea Oliva, Michael Bibi, Pawsa, Alex Arnout, Solardo, Denny, Camelphat. He made his debut at Studio 338 in 2017, and has returned to the club numerous times since then, most notably playing for The Zoo Project and Sankeys LDN on the famous terrace. Rossi. has been building his production over the years. His debut release “RKiNn” (under Ross McCormack) out on Modula Records Vinyl Only VA, has had support from Jamie Jones, waFF, Apollonia, Rich Nxt, Yaya, Rossko ….. in venues such as DC-10, Burning Man, Kappa Futur, BPM Festival and many more... Constant Circles - “This one (RKiNN) is a standout with its lethal breakdown of rolling snares leading into a serious rolling bassline & choppy hats, guaranteed to get you hands in the air!” Rossi. has now got many more releases coming, certainly an artist to watch as his sound starts to grown around the world!

Sidney Charles

His take on house music is known amongst fans as The Sidney Sound: it’s one built on heavy low ends, the immediate impact of chunky drums, cavernous low frequencies and hard hitting rhythms that connect directly with your body. Both as a DJ and a producer, Sidney favours rough, dirty sounds that defined the old school pioneers, but all with a modern, full and punchy approach. His signature tunes like ‘House Lessons’ and ‘Warehouse Romance’ established this early on, and since then the artist has homed in on ever more irresistible rhythms on key labels like Truesoul, Hot Creations and Saved. HIs upfront, dark, hard hitting take on house is about physicality and making your body move. He wants to get you jacked up on the dance floor and keep you there. He does so with a mixing technique drawn from his long standing love of hip hop and battle DJs: beat matching, subtle scratching and tight, quick, energetic mixes that move things along at a pace. His love of direct rhythms stems back to a A Tribe Called Quest’s seminal Low End Theory album, which was the first in hip hop to really focus on the power of the drums and placement of them in the mix. After initially being a hip hop DJ who peaked with a warm up set for the legendary Xzibit, house music really turned Sidney’s ear: he’d grown up with it all round him as his mother was a music journalist with Strictly Rhythm promos arriving on a regular basis, but only later did he grow to appreciate its more immediate sense of energy and drive, coupled with the funk he loved from hip hop. Over the years, he has played DC10 Circo Loco numerous times, Mute Beach in Argentina to 10,000 people with Hot Since 82, held a Do Not Sleep residency at Vista Club in 2015 and was resident of Tribal Sessions Sankeys at its peak in Manchester and Ibiza. His music, too, has achieved some real highs such as ‘Ruff Line’ making number 2 in Beatport’s chart, ‘All Night Long’ on Hot Creations being number 1 on Beatport, being RA’s most charted artist in 2013 and being nominated twice for Best Producer and Newcomer in the Ibiza DJs Awards These days based in the laidback and sunny climate of Portugal, where he has time to surf, relax and more room to think about his work than in the hustle and bustle of Berlin, he is continuing to mature as an artist. His current release ‘Rush’ ft. Liz Cass on DFTD is doing great on digital & streaming stores, as well as the start of his own label, Heavy House Society, whose name says it all: it will be a label that deals in heavy, forward looking, rhythm orientated house music. With a background as an A&R at Avotre a few years ago, Sidney will bring those skills to the new label as his love of unearthing hot new talents continues. Charles is at home in a small and sweaty club like Circo Loco at DC10 in Ibiza, but also Italy’s largest open air warehouse, Social Music City, in Milan, as well as plenty in between. This year he heads back to South America, where they love his booty-shaking bottom ends, as well as to big gigs like Creamfields. For those who really like to feel house music in their chest, then, there is no one better than Sidney Charles

STELLA BOSSI

Sub Focus

Over the course of a 16-year career, Nick Douwma aka Sub Focus has risen through the ranks of underground jungle to become a global dance music superstar. First building a reputation around air-punching, dancefloor-dismantling drum & bass, he now draws from all corners of the electronic landscape - epitomising the ‘anything goes’ mantra of today's scene. His journey began in 2003, when he signed his first tunes to drum & bass’ biggest label Ram Records, off the back of a CD:R handed to label boss Andy C by one of his friends whilst drunk. Despite this inauspicious introduction, so impressed was the legendary DJ by the content, he duly signed every track and invited Douwma to join the Ram family. Sub Focus’ tunes - expansive, fiercely creative, but made with the scientific precision of a military warhead - immediately stood out from the crowd and were soon being rotated by every major DJ in the scene, garnering airplay on mainstream radio, and drawing fans from throughout the globe. The next logical step was an album. But as he’s shown throughout his career, Douwma wanted to push himself further and create something that was more encompassing than the often insular confines of drum & bass. Drawing on his love of all strains of dance music, from 80s synth pioneers Vangelis and Jean-Michel Jarre, through dance leviathans The Chemical Brothers, to futuristic house and techno acts like Lindstrom and Matthew Dear, his eponymous debut album released in 2009 featured not only drum & bass but dubstep, old-school breakbeat, bumping house and lashings of electro and rock, all brought together in a taut collection that could only have been made in the 21st century. It was an instant hit. Rather than taking his foot off the gas, the decade since has been similarly successful for one of dance music’s enduring stars. Sophomore album Torus was released in 2013, channelling a dancefloor-focused, floor-filling vibe. The 13-track release included ‘Endorphins’ and ‘Turn Back Time’, singles that both made it into the UK Top 10, whilst three others made it into the Top 40. Douwma has spent the past few years perfecting his stunning, immersive live show, joining Pendulum on tour, wowing the bulging Glastonbury crowds and selling out Brixton Academy on two occasions. He has also linked up with a slew of international chart-toppers, including Rudimental, with the link-up leading to the stunning ‘Trouble’ with Chronixx and Maverick Sabre, and Chase & Status with the iconic ‘Flashing Lights’. Reaching the pinnacle of the drum & bass world, Douwma would go on to become a mentor for the scene’s new school of exciting talent - forging boundary-pushing collaborations with the likes of Wilkinson and Dimension. Sub Focus and Dimension’s 2018 single ‘Desire’ has clocked up over 30 million global streams, signifying a new chapter in the story. Moving into 2019, the release of double-single ‘Solar System’ and ‘Siren’ conveys an artist who’s stayed true to his musical roots throughout his long career - a career that he doesn’t look like curtailing anytime soon.

Oldboy

"Ruffneck selector, promoter and a true Soundboy when it comes to beats with bump, flex and bounce. You've probably caught Oldboy rinsing raves with bags of ukg, 4x4, sublow, up-to-the-time house and grime, he knows how to stoke the party straaight!" kind words by Swing Ting (2011)

Pan-Pot

Tassilo and Thomas met at Berlin’s renowned SAE, and were drawn together as they were the only two in their studies who had their sights set on the sound of techno. Their initial musical efforts placed a primacy on integrating electronic experimentation with minimal stylings while simultaneously establishing the ominous, murky sounds that have since become synonymous with their name. The next few years saw the release of a steady stream of original tracks and remixes on both Mobilee and Einmaleins, each demonstrating the duo’s commitment to precise, undulating and kinetic grooves accompanied by a steady expansion of their sonic palate. The defining moment of Pan-Pot's career came in 2007 with the release of their debut artist album, Pan-O-Rama. The aptly named long player offered a 360-degree view of techno that was unique, uncompromised and most importantly, their own. The body of work perfectly balanced heavy, peak time club stormers to deeper, more intricate atmospherics and birthed the overground hit "Charly". More recently "Confronted" and "Captain My Captain" have demonstrated their classic, bold and timeless production style, presenting them as the producers at the top of their game, both sonically and conceptually. Pan-Pot hasn't gotten to where they are on their productions alone. When the two aren't spending countless hours in the studio remixing or creating original work, they are relentlessly touring. This is how they have truly gotten to where they are: by touching the writhing, euphoric, dancing seas of bodies at countless gigs every year. Not only do they have an electric vibe to watch, but their grasp and keen understanding of each and every dance floor is unparalleled. Whether it's an intimate club night or a massive festival like Awakenings, Timewarp, or Creamfields, Pan-Pot know exactly what to do. Unconstrained by boundaries, they traverse techno, house and everything in between with a masters touch. Although their name comes from a basic element of studio equipment, they have rewritten notions of form and function through their own idiosyncratic language and are now stepping completely into a new world with the launch of their own imprint, Second State. Second State is not only a platform for Pan-Pot to release their own music, they are creating a family of like minded artists around them to create, imagine and travel the world with, spreading the Second State vision. It's a place where all ideas can flow seamlessly. From music and events to art and fashion, it's a place where there is no ceiling. No limits to what can be achieved or dreamed. Now is the time they are truly coming into their own. Not only as world class artists and performers, but as tastemakers and masters of their own destiny.

Phill de Janeiro

A sound flushed with Brazilian influence and creative flair, Phill de Janeiro has defined a truly unique frequency. Predominantly sitting within the House and Disco soundscape, Phill de Janeiro breaks out of the ever-conforming ‘perception box’ and creates a contrast with what we know the genres to be. Subtle elements of Chicago and New York house merge seamlessly with the UK's garage and 90's intricacies. Phill de Janeiro weaves his story through non-conforming sonics and question/answer patterns, creating a heartbeat packed full of groove. This soulful underbelly has given the rising star a strong brand identity and clear respect within the industry and genre in which he plays. Phill de Janeiro is known for his conductorship and dynamite track selection. Each live set is curated expertly as he crafts and tailors each performance with an unteachable flair, utilising all genre styles in his remit. This, in turn, creates an eclectic vibe on the dance floor. Since moving to the UK capital from his Brazil homeland, Phill de Janeiro has formed quite the musical CV. Notable performances at the likes of underground hotbed The Cause, Night Tales, Werkhaus, E1 as well as festival appearances and showcases with Mixmag has seen him share the stage with high-profile artists such as Youandewan, Huerta, Dam Swindle, Skream, DJ Seinfeld and many more. Firmly on the production trail and with high-profile bookings flooding in at world-renowned venues and festivals such as Queens Yard Summer Party, Lost Village and many more, 2023 and beyond looks to be one of rising credibility for both his Modern Funktion movement and himself, as a breakout artist.

Restricted

Restricted’s rise to stardom has been accelerated by his TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube presence, where his videos have collectively amassed over 500 million views over the past three years. With 100 million+ streams and features on top editorial playlists (including but not limited to): Apple Music’s “Dance in Spatial Audio”, Spotify’s "Dance Generation" and "Hard Techno” playlists, it’s clear that is music journey is just scratching the surface of what’s yet to unfold. His music has also been championed by the likes of Azyr, Sara Landry, Clara Curve, Dimitri Vegas, NOVAH, BYORN, and WINSON. He is also no stranger to the Beatport Charts topping #1 for his single "WTF?", and breaking the top 10 on Hardcore/Neo Rave charts for singles "Rockin' to the Rhythm", "Tunnel Vision", and "FCKIN LOUD". 2024 was nothing short of explosive for Restricted. His ability to fuse high-energy club anthems with the raw, industrial grit of hard techno has earned him a cult-like following, seeing his fan base grow exponentially across Europe, Australia, America, and beyond. From shutting down festival stages like the latest Insomniac’s Dreamstate in Sydney to dropping viral tracks racking up millions of streams; Restricted has cemented his status as one of the most talked-about names in the new wave of hard dance. Now, with "WTF?" dominating global playlists and setlists alike, he’s proving once again that he’s not just riding the wave—he’s defining it. Now, he’s set to take things even further—Restricted has been officially announced on the lineup for Teletech Festival on August 2nd. One defining moment in March 2024 further cemented his viral status—when a fan unexpectedly jumped onto his CDJs mid-performance. Instead of shutting it down, Restricted let the fan continue mixing, seamlessly transitioning into a track that sent the crowd into a frenzy. This moment was captured on video and has since exploded across social media, racking up 90 million views across TikTok and Instagram and solidifying his reputation as an artist who thrives in chaos. Taking his vision to the next level, Restricted officially debuted his label and event brand, REVIVE RECORDS in Summer 2024 with the earth-shattering hit, "Tunnel Vision", a collaboration between Restricted and Nik Sitz. REVIVE is more than a label—it’s an industrial soundscape where the BPMs are faster, the bass hits harder, and the energy never stops surging. A breeding ground for high-intensity, industrial hard techno that doesn’t just demand attention—it takes it by force. What sets Restricted apart isn’t just his sound—it’s his ability to capture the underground’s intensity and inject it with modern rave’s chaotic, unfiltered energy.
