Where did he come from? Where did she go? Marie Malarie wants to make you dance like a hoe. Marie curates her very own own queer clubnights whose focus is to bring DJs, new talents, performers and artists together to celebrate the beauty of music. Danielle

On top of a foundational core of house, techno and electro she folds in myriad sonic wildcards to create dynamic, innovative variations on the club music experience. It’s logical her tastes would be omnivorous – Danielle spent 10 years working at fabled London record shop Phonica, one of the definitive destinations for dance music in the city, as well as a lengthy tenure at iconic Bristol store Idle Hands. Being across new releases week in, week out is one thing, but knowing how to stitch them together is another. From the breakthrough years perfecting the craft of a great warm-up to her long-standing residency on NTS Radio since 2017, Danielle shaped her approach to DJing from a free-thinking, fluid angle which still rings true now she’s more commonly found at the top of the bill. Danielle’s DJing has touched upon vital events, venues and locations around the world, from touring the US and playing flagship festivals like Glastonbury, Dekmantel, Draaimolen and Love International, to clubs like DC10, Fabric, The White Hotel, Corsica Studios and Tresor, holding down a residency season for Colour Factory in London and Left Bank in Tbilisi, and frequently picked for parties as revered as Timedance, Herrensauna and Livity Sound. In tandem, her skills have been recognised by key publications including Mixmag, DJ Mag (she was nominated as a best breakthrough DJ in 2020) and Resident Advisor. Beyond her own DJ work (she’s also a frequent contributor to many a mix series), Danielle also takes the time to impart her experience and knowledge to the next generation via her classes at Mix Nights – a non-profit organisation she helped set up seven years ago to encourage women and non-binary people to explore the art of DJing. Elsewhere, her label Soft Raw was founded in 2022 as a platform to champion the fresh talent she comes across in her position as a revered DJ and which speaks to her consistent instinct for new developments within club music. All these elements feed into the overall mission Danielle is on, pursuing her love of dynamic, physical soundsystem music with errant coding in its DNA. Keyed into new revolutions in the ever-evolving culture of the dancefloor, Danielle melds her impeccable taste together with fierce commitment and flair, delivering the impulse to move and presenting wholly new ideas to any crowd, any party, any time, anywhere.

drysu

A literal product of the underground, iona worked in a subterranean bank vault counting money before joining the staff of London’s dearly departed Dance Tunnel to do much the same. Her debut gig as DJ Leisurewear down in the DT basement - a last minute warm up for a friend - led some months later to a pivotal final performance in the Tunnel under her own name. With a pocket full of acid house iona threw down at the club’s 2016 closing party, and with neither the sweat, parties nor a love of comfy trousers stopping since then, she’s been turning up and playing tunes every year as a resident at Field Maneuvers, and from the beaches of Albania to Panorama Bar, with the same minimum of fanfare. iona’s sound keeps the dancefloor firmly in the crosshairs with sonic manifestations in mixes on NTS, Crack, DJ Mag and Daisychain alongside regular shows on Rinse. The biggest bangers might be the slowest and deepest. Peak-time breakbeat techno dissolves in and out of broken percussive rhythms with trippy fluidity and intensity. It’s the logic of dreams, making perfect sense when you’re floating inside of it, dissolving into something indescribable if you try to break it down. Past releases on Don’t Be Afraid and Natural Frequency records as one half of Midnight Snacc foreshadow forthcoming solo excursions.

I. JORDAN

I. JORDAN is a pivotal influence in UK dance music culture. Since their debut release in 2019, the Doncaster-born, London-based DJ and producer has blazed trails with rave-infused house and techno steeped in Northern culture. I. JORDAN has become known for a specific brand of euphoric house that transcends dancefloors and speaks straight to the human spirit. They’ve won numerous awards, remixed Romy, Fred Again, TSHA and Pet Shop Boys, toured with Fred Again and Flume, and sold out shows around the world, from London to Manchester, Tokyo to Sydney. Jordan gained international recognition with their debut album I AM JORDAN, chosen as one of BBC 6’s album of the year in 2024. I. JORDAN sees art and activism as inextricable, promoting queer empowerment and supporting marginalized communities through workshops, productions and shows. Jordan launched their live show format in 2024, combining live programming and guitar with visuals, dancers and vocalists. Their recent music explores deep emotional expression, championing true authenticity, and rejecting society’s ideas of how they should exist in the world. And by embodying their most authentic self, they hope others feel liberated to do the same.

IMOGEN

IMOGEN channels dystopian electro, rumbling bass, UK techno and choppy breaks, drawing influence from her storied years living in London while adding her own spiky twist to the darker-tinted tones of electronic music. Listening to The Prodigy and Stanton Warriors at home with her mum in Southampton sparked IMOGEN's interest in dance music. An underage raver at the time, she immersed herself in the scene, attending several house-led parties at her local club, Junk, before moving to London aged 16 to study Music Technology. Here, she learnt how to produce and DJ while cutting her teeth as a resident on Radar Radio. Featuring seminal guests like Ellen Allien and Umwelt, IMOGEN established her vision from day one. At just 18 years old, IMOGEN landed a booking at Berghain and has since evolved into the revered producer and DJ she is today. In 2022, Voitax released her debut solo EP What?, which Resident Advisor described as 'Fast, techno-infused electro from a rising star rapidly coming into her own.' Her track 'Up To No Good' garnered praise from industry and dance music lovers alike. Earlier releases include her debut tune 'Flesh' on Earwiggle in 2018, followed by Volts co-produced with Ben Pest. Her latest release dropped on Steel City Dance Discs this summer with a fusion of hefty breaks and four-to-the floor beats. The EP also includes a remix by Radioactive Man. Living in London allowed IMOGEN to soak up the city's rich club culture and finesse her craft. As a resident on NTS Radio, she regularly plays B2B with her favourite artists, including Helelna Hauff, Identified Patient and Clouds, this was recognised by BBC Radio One where IMOGEN just hosted her debut show on the station. A former resident of fabric, IMOGEN has supported artists across the electronic spectrum and has played throughout the UK, counting shows at Warehouse Project, The Beams and festivals Glastonbury and Junction 2. Sharing her sound in Europe, she's soundtracked Kraftwerk, Herrensauna, MELT festival, Awakenings and many more. During the pandemic, IMOGEN explored ways to give back to the music community. She taught Music Production lessons via Zoom, sharing knowledge in an accessible, friendly environment. This led her to launch Wigs, an inclusive platform and party series that facilitates workshops and provides a hub for aspiring artists to connect. IMOGEN curates Wigs events with the same forward-thinking approach, breaking the circuit of tried and tested lineups and showcasing new names on the night. The first event kicked off in fabric as part of the club's 24-hour Continuum series. Since then, IMOGEN has taken Wigs across the UK and Europe featuring Aquarian, Daria Kolosova and Bjarki. This winter sees the birth of Wigs as a record label alongside more sold out shows across the globe. A multi-disciplined artist, IMOGEN is a member of T.I.P. aka TripSixVivo, IMOGEN and Paàl. Together, the trio in corporate live producing and MCing, creating a hybrid of electro, grime, drum'n'bass and techno. Their debut EP Neosynthesis displayed their intricate dynamic and rugged aesthetic. Entering the next phase of her non-conformist career, IMOGEN's skill, dedication and grounded attitude are reflected across all of her projects, making her a vital talent in today's electronic realm.

Mike Servito

Mun Sing

Mvcoko

MVCOKO is London-based dj, producer and founder of SYPHEN. Their work engages with the extremities of emotion - drawing on anguish, rage and tension as core materials. Through layered, narrative-driven sets, MVCOKO uses sound as a form of emotional processing, tracing arcs that shift between chaos and calm, abrasion and beauty. Their practice sits somewhere between storytelling and cathartic release, where genre bends and feeling surpasses. Described as a demonic mermaid, MVCOKO creates sets that are relentless and unpredictable, distorted and melancholic amongst moments of vulnerability. Each performance brings a state of intensity, reflection and surrender. They’ve performed across London, New York, Paris, Toronto, Montreal, Bristol, Leeds & Glasgow with broadcasts on NTS, Rinse FM, Balamii, Kiosk and Montez Press Radio.

Nadia Ksaiba

Anyone familiar with London’s late-night disco dens over the past 10 years will recognise the name Nadia Ksaiba. The Tunisian-born DJ/producer is a regular cast member at veteran electronic party Bugged Out! and Shoreditch club XOYO and one of the capital’s best-kept-secrets. A seasoned tastemaker, Ksaiba hosts the monthly show Rhythm Connection with Dan Beaumont (Chapter 10, Dalston Superstore) on NTS Radio. Now in its fifth year, the artists they’ve uncovered and played first reads like the year in dance music cover stars: Honey Dijon, The Black Madonna, Bicep, Daniel Avery, the list goes on. Her DJ style, meanwhile, flies in the face of what she calls “emotionless, seamless Beatport bangers”, instead spanning a nuanced mix of disco, boogie, proto-house, techno, Italo, minimal wave post-punk, acid and party jams that pump the heart of electronic music. Whether she’s playing Panorama Bar, soundtracking the pole-dancing at east London drag party Savage or covering Optimo for one of their famed Sunday-nighters at Glasgow’s Sub Club, there are few dancefloors that Ksaiba can’t make jack. Ksaiba has been fine-tuning her kinetic sets since the early-2000s, when the parties of Jacques Lu Cont (the Gallic moniker of pop super-producer Stuart Price) introduced her to funky, filtered French house music. When her record collection got out of hand, she bought turntables and started DJing. Her first ever gig was at Bugged Out! in 2002, swiftly followed by bookings at iconic London club Fabric, Arthur Baker’s Return To New York and beyond. Her DJ sets are a shimmering stomp through New York and Chicago’s neon-lit backstreets – but they’re also a subtle education, and decidedly against the groove of whatever the big club sounds are. In the mid-2000s, Ksaiba put that theory to the test with her two cult clubs that helped define London’s party scene. She found a kindred spirit in in Rory Phillips, a resident DJ at The End’s indie-electro party Trash, and together they had the prestigious residency And Did We Mention Our Disco? at legendary Shoreditch club Plastic People and they founded Say Yes – two crucial underground parties for knowing clubbers. Both were hugely important in giving new DJ talent a platform, as they were hosting the likes of LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy, Italians Do It Better, Hot Chip and Simian Mobile Disco. Ksaiba also shines as an artist in her own right. Her G&S project with Matt Waites released underground hits on Andy Blake’s seminal label Dissident and on Disco Bloodbath’s imprint. In 2013, meanwhile, she pricked the ears of Erol Alkan, who released her single Virtual Lover on his label, Phantasy Sound (the home of Daniel Avery, Connan Mockasin and Beyond The Wizard’s Sleeve). A knowing slice of wonky synth-funk, Virtual Lover refocused the energy of her DJ sets with a pop lens, leading one magazine to describe it as “Tom Tom Club meets Madonna” – the Madonna part being Ksaiba herself on vocals. 2018 is set to be the year that Ksaiba goes from insider tip to internationally renowned party-hopper – though the unassuming DJ would never say so herself. The focus of her sets, she says, is simply to “make people connect and really feel what was happening when the artist made the record”. Ksaiba’s recent appearances at Bicep’s XOYO takeover and Ministry of Sound’s flagship disco night Glitterbox are bringing that mentality to the masses, while her latest stints on Rinse FM are yet another introduction to her metallic-edged nocturnal world.

Rosie Ama

Having cut her teeth as a writer and editor for online music platforms Stamp The Wax and Ransom Note, Rosie went on to form Kiara Scuro in 2016 with her friend Nadia - a DJ and production duo with releases for the likes of fabric originals, Ritmo Fatale and Faux Poly, as well as long-standing radio residencies on Rinse FM and Balamii Radio. After a decade together, Rosie has now turned her focus to her solo project and the trippy sonics that first ignited her passion for DJing, and continue to guide the output of her record label, Human Endeavour. Her editorial background helped sharpen her curatorial ear and connect her with likeminded artists around the world, which led her to launch the imprint in 2022. It serves as a platform for artists operating in the deep, dark and hypnotic corners of electronic music and has been home to artists like Anastasia Zems, Justine Forever, Nandele, Medicine 8 and Thomass Jackson. As another outlet to share her musical discoveries, Rosie hosts a monthly radio show on Bristol’s Noods Radio called Melodic Odds, which showcases her sleazy cocktail of low-slung chuggers, leftfield acid house and synth-driven grooves. With recent support slots for Optimo, Wallace and Make A Dance under her belt, Rosie Ama is beginning to carve a name for herself in the underground club space…

Sarahtonin

Sarahtonin, as her name suggests, makes you feel good. With a knack for finding mood-lifting tracks that make people want to dance, she has a well-deserved reputation for filling floors. She’s been listening to and mentally cataloguing music all her life and has developed both a broad taste and an encyclopaedic knowledge which allows her to play across time and genre to craft the best vibe for any situation – whether that’s Wednesday afternoon radio on Do!! You!!! alongside Charlie Bones, the legendary Low Life parties of Bill Brewster and Frank Broughton, dark smokey clubs in the small hours, or sweaty festival tents on summer afternoons. Her unshazamable DjHistory mystery mix demonstrates the depth of her collection, which spans rare house and disco cuts, driving chuggy groovers, soul with sexy vocals, acid, electronica, techno and UKG. Sarah’s weekly radio show on Do!! You!!! has a dedicated following around the world and inspires chatroom comments like “Goooooosebumpssss”, “I’m out of ‘woi’” and “gonna learn to make a bot that just posts ‘chune’ every time Sarah starts a new track”. She’s hosted guests including Piers Harrison, Scarlett O’Malley, Toshiki Ohta, Running Hot and Nadia Ksaiba. As well as her regular show, she contributes guest mixes to stations including NTS, Refuge Worldwide, Soho Radio, Voices Radio and 1BTN. And she’s made a Chill Out Tent mix for Apple Music. A Low Life resident since 2023, Sarah delivers funky sets to faithfuls and newcomers at London institution Corsica Studios, injecting fresh energy into this long-running and much loved party. In 2024, she graced the celebrated Gala festival, filling the affectionately dubbed Wizard’s Hat with love, smiles, cheers and tears. Other notable festival performances include Glastonbury, Love International, Watching Trees, Field Maneuvers and Wildwood. Always full of fun, always with a cheeky grin. Get your dose. It’s like a hug, with tunes.

Paleman

He has quickly become one of the most respected DJs and producers with a view to innovation and experimentation. Multiple releases on Swamp81 started his career aged 18 followed by a collaboration with UK mercury prize jazz nominees Polar Bear in 2014 before he launched his own white label series in 2016 "PLMN". Paleman now has a curated solo show "Hyphal Networks" on Rinse FM, exploring experimental techno sounds and has debuted his textural electronic percussion based live show at Manchester International festival. Recently, four self releases under his belt on his imprint PLMN Records and EPs in 2018 and 2019 with Berlin based Zehnin Records and Nonplus Records, Paleman seems to be on an ever increasing upwards curve, shifting his sound and exploring new realms of experimental modular driven techno that defies convention. Paleman’s knack for percussive, textural and elegantly minimal dance floor music has taken him around the world from Tresor in Berlin and across the UK to Australia, India and Canada all to showcase his unique DJing style and huge array of unreleased experiments. With studies in classical music and jazz his drumming skills and influences take note from all four corners of the experimental musical world, and also the dystopian future of hardware based machine music as well as experimental early electronics. Paleman seems to constantly be pushing boundaries in both his DJ and live sets and also his productions - 2020 seems set to reveal even more of the experienced producer.

Her signature sonic world also extends into remixing, from her downtempo rework of Echo Juliet’s “Red Sun” featured on BBC Radio 6 Music to her atmospheric cut of Derek V Bulcke’s “MAKE UP” for La Bonne Musique featured in Mixmag. On the stage, Stella Z crafts multi-genre, unpredictable sets, weaving slow-burn psychedelia, deep tribal grooves, and industrial beats while uncovering hidden Asian dance gems. She has also performed live set at festivals including Watching Trees (UK) and Abrupt Festival (Belgium). Beyond DJing and production, she has made various radio appearances on NTS, Kiosk Radio, Mutant Radio, and more while also curating QUIET CHAOS—a show exploring darker tone of listening music and the subtle nuances of sound.

Telfort

Tolu

Tolu’s infectious passion for music and broadcasting draws upon his Nigerian-Italian heritage and love of Afrobeat and Italo disco. As a DJ, his varied selections transcend borders whilst always keeping one foot firmly on the dance floor. From kwaito and bubblegum to Senegalese hip hop and benga, his passion for lost and overlooked musical gems make his sets a real treat.

Toshiki Ohta

In his early teens, Toshiki was almost permanently locked to pirate radio stations like Touchdown and Kool FM. A fake NUS card took the 16 year old into a hedonistic, progressive world of raves, seduced by the sounds of early jungle at nights like AWOL and World Dance to techno from Laurent Garnier, Billy Nasty and Fabi Paras each playing at the height of their powers at Club UK. Decades later, and Tosh’s taste for new music has yet to dampen, as his reputation as a versatile, generous selector has only grown. In a hype-focused environment for DJing, it speaks volumes that Tosh has been on-hand for London promoters such as Percolate and Krankbrother in order to play alongside some of the world's most influential DJs. As well as shows in the UK he plays overseas in Australia, Greece, Croatia and regularly in his home country Japan, where he has played in Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya, as well as broadcasting on the country's influential Dommune stream. In 2020, Tosh joined DJ October and Faso as a monthly co-host on the cult ‘Sacred Pools’ show on NTS Radio, a no-holds-barred trip dissolving the boundaries between electronic and alternative music. Whether in muddy fields, vast club spaces or in a small improvised Room 2, Tosh’s sincere acid house spirit and infectious enthusiasm always translates, always inspires. John Thorp, 2020

Tia Cousins

Owning records is easy, playing them, easier. Reading a room, knowing what lands, stitching tracks into something that moves a crowd - that's where the craft separates itself from the collection. The tapestry of becoming a real DJ is an art form few truly master. Step forth, Tia Cousins, London-based selector, radio broadcaster, and self-proclaimed BoG Witch who has made a name for herself by digging through the cracks others overlook. In an era drowning in information, she's carved out a niche collecting the in-between sounds - experimental gear, obscure niches, the old and the new - amassing a collection of music that frankly shouldn't belong to someone her age. It's one that has won her plenty of recognition in all the right circles, from NTS to Balamii, the Tate Gallery to Brilliant Corners. Tia's extensive knowledge threads together EBM, Italo, Techno, Synth-Pop, Post-punk and House, leaving no stone unturned. Learning to DJ in her university bedroom after a friend left their decks behind, she's refined her approach over the years: finding moments of silence to transition, and keeping things simple with minimal effects. These dizzyingly eclectic yet well-sequenced selections have turned heads on radio stations around the world, most recently landing her a monthly residency on Bristol's Noods Radio. Her well-curated radio shows have become a calling card - a space for music she actually wants to listen to at home, rather than the usual ‘club’ fare. Reaching deep into jazz, krautrock, ambient, and the experimental fringes that keep dancefloors guessing, she's also cleared a few floors in her time, "I quite like doing that - filtering out the crowd so that only those who are vibing remain." Tia's also turned her unique ears to A&R, heading up the musical direction for the Ransom Note's record label, as well as co-parenting the ambient and plant cassette label Music To Watch Seeds Grow By. Born from a sober stint spent hyperfixating on gardening and sprouting seeds, the cassette label pairs ambient music with the slow, mindful art of horticulture. The past couple of years have been huge for the young selector, and she can be found performing with the likes of Optimo, Decius, Lena Willikens, Helena Hauff and Vladimir Ivkovic. This year she's debuted at Panorama Bar, Convenanza and Waterworks, toured Asia, alongside regular appearances at Field Maneuvers, Love International, Golden Lion, Bugged Out and Watching Trees - where she's soundtracked silent films, played main stage sets whilst co-curating the The Bush of Ghosts ambient area. When you add in mixes for Erol Alkan's Phantasy, BICEP, the fabric International Women's Day series, as well as being featured on Resident Advisor's mix of the day, it’s safe to say Tia is quietly earning acclaim that even the most seasoned of artists would yearn for.
