What started as a small friends-and-family project took an unexpected turn, gradually becoming the core of our lives over the past two decades.
Our event series J.A.W turned 20 years. Two decades of what means the most to us: celebrating music and underground culture with family, friends, and kindred spirits in intimate spaces.
To mark this milestone, we’re taking over a temporary multi-space location with an outdoor garden in the heart of Berlin. We’ll be featuring a lineup of live acts and DJs as we love to do, bringing longtime JAW Family friends together with a selection of exciting and inspiring international artists, including three Berlin-based live projects, specially curated for the occasion.
The three-day Family Reunion will unfold across two parallel spaces. One will be dedicated to live performances and club nights. The second one will serve as an alternative to the dance floor, providing a more intimate environment focused on active listening. Both spaces will feature custom sound systems specifically brought in for the event, in collaboration with the good folks at Paris-based audiophile company Palladium Audio.
Beyond the music, Family Reunion will also host an exhibition that traces the 20-year history of J.A.W, featuring original archive materials from its founding in Paris in 2005 to its current base in Berlin.

CHEWCHEW
ChewChew is a Berlin-based DJ and selector whose sets move between Oldschool House, 80s Disco, African-Boogie, Funk, Acid, Techno and everything that has groove. Her musical world is shaped by deep curiosity, guided less by genre than by rhythm, feeling, and texture. Whether behind the decks or on the road, she’s always listening. Always digging. Born in Belarus and raised near Hamburg, she connected with club culture not through big stages or formal training, but by sneaking out of the house as a teenager, drawn to the raw energy of the city’s nightlife. Hamburg’s Deep-House scene left a mark: hypnotic, emotional, and spacious. The kind of sound that pulls you in without asking for permission. While studying architecture in Aachen, she worked in a record store, organized parties, and slowly built her own record collection. It was a time of listening and learning, figuring out how sound moves through space, and how a DJ can shape a night without saying a word. Now based in Berlin, she splits her time between playing across Europe and working with resør, a rotary mixer brand built on analog assembly and attention to detail. Being part of the team has deepened her interest in the technical side of DJing, how the feel of a mixer can influence how you play, how you listen, and how you connect with the room. Her party series "All You Can Feel" reflects that same care: intimate gatherings built on trust, shared listening, and musical curiosity. Whether playing all night in a bar or stepping into a back-to-back with friends, her sets are spacious, groovy, and full of little surprises, records found in dusty markets, backrooms, or gifted across borders. For ChewChew, DJing isn’t about controlling the room. It’s about creating a space, for connection, for movement, and for the kind of moments that stay with you long after the last track ends.
Dimitra Zina
Floating Points
Ken Okuda
Influenced by selectors like Theo Parrish and Sassy J, Ken Okuda aims to take the artform of cross-genre DJing into the modern day. With a dedication to spinning vinyl and a keen ear for contemporary sounds, his sets move in all directions.

Mendel
From sweet boogie steppers and high-energy disco to deeper house, moody electro, and gritty acid tracks. Though his dance floors always move through moments of euphoria, Mendel favours the sensual moments over fist-pumping fixations. His party—and life—philosophy is to transcend quick entertainment and strive for something meaningful. This ethos resonates with audiences worldwide who seek genuine and heartfelt experiences. Whether playing on a wild boat, a big festival stage or in the darkness of an intimate club, Mendel’s sensitive perception and proficiency, honed over two decades of experience, are ever evident. Born and raised in Amsterdam, Mendel bought his first record player from a market stall at Waterlooplein at the age of 11. He played his first sets at hip-hop joints De Duivel and Bitterzoet as a teen and immersed himself in the city’s rich cultural tapestry of record stores and nightlife. Working at Waxwell Records further broadened his musical horizon, and he soon began organising nights and playing in venues throughout Europe. Since 2018, Mendel has been running Ciranda, a community-driven event series. Ciranda holds a residency at Doka, one of Amsterdam’s most audio-forward venues, and has hosted multiple outdoor editions as well as events in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and London. Ciranda’s programming platforms upcoming talent, unsung heroes, and the occasional legend, while its loyal and diverse dancers bring a truly special, warm energy that is hard to come by. As a producer, Mendel is known for his respectful approach to editing and remixing, emphasising the beauty of the original without imprinting his ego onto an existing piece of music. His works on labels like Kalita Records, Rush Hour Recordpool, and Notes On A Journey, have found their way into many discerning record bags, appreciated for their meticulous craftsmanship. Mendel is currently working on a debut EP, the next step in a long line of quality and loving output.

A globetrotter at heart (originally from Sudan, raised in the UAE & lived in the US, Malaysia, Sweden & Germany), I've traveled the world pursuing the magical feeling only dancefloors can exude; a search that proved to me that regardless of where you are: genres don't matter. What matters is the feeling the music gives, the energy/soul you put into it & the space as a participant in the collective experience; be it as a dancer, dj or organiser. This heavily informs my taste and selections that I explore through my sets as well as the curation of the projects I organise: as a resident radio host at Berlin’s online radio station Refuge Worldwide, as a co-host of 'Endless Groove' (a non-profit Loft inspired community driven party based in Stockholm & Berlin), initiator of 'Black Is...' (gender-inclusive platform supporting BIPOC voices based in Berlin & Amsterdam) & founder of ‘Wild Combination’ (a Berlin multi collective showcase benefitting essential causes), as well as the curation of my bi-monthly VIBRATIO)))NS mix series.
MUSCLECARS
Native to New York, musclecars is a DJ / Producer duo consisting of Brandon Weems and Craig Handfield. As musicians, they equally share an admiration for the art form. Their desire to blend genres and express their appreciation for music is focused around their community- the end goal is to bring people together. Through a regular stream of high quality mixes and multiple outstanding releases, they’re constantly turning heads in underground circles. In 2018 they launched ‘Coloring Lessons’, a party that was aimed to add value to their city’s nightlife culture. While the party and sound is not genre specific, it is heavily focused around house, disco, jazz, and soul, embracing the musical elements of their black and brown ancestors. The monthly party's intention is to bring New York City's dance music scene back to what it was during the golden era of NY nightlife. They aim to spread the music that has been influential to them, and share it with a younger generation of their peers. In 2020 the pair launched the label Coloring Lessons Records. The label, like the party, is intended on building up artists from their city and beyond, with the sound indicative of the Coloring Lessons ethos- which is sharing music created and inspired by their ancestors of color, and teaching younger generations about the roots of this music.
Oraculu
Monica Mussungo
With a soulful voice that captivates audiences, she delivers authentic experiences, whether performing original compositions, covers, or jazz improvisations. Her voice seamlessly blends with various instruments, including guitar, piano, and saxophone, creating an enchanting atmosphere. Monica has been entrusted to elevate events for prestigious brands like Airbnb, BMW, Lamborghini, and Ray-Ban. She is also closely associated with cultural collectives such as A Song For You and has graced renowned stages, including Berlin's XJAZZ Festival, Cassette Head Sessions, and Barcelona's Caixa Forum Museum and Casa dels Punxes.
Palms Trax
For aspiring DJs and producers, or indeed anyone who appreciates a good story, the genesis of Palms Trax couldn’t have read any dreamier. You know the one; curious yet naive son of the English Riviera lands a job at one of London’s leading record stores and discovers the masters of Chicago house and Detroit techno. Later, stumbling around Berlin, his primitive attempts to emulate the sound of his newfound heroes accidentally land him a bona fide dance floor hit. A gradual but steady stream of EPs courtesy of Dutch dance music powerhouse Dekmantel have allowed his productions to blossom in richer, smoother directions. On 2015’s ‘In Gold’ EP, and throughout the following year’s ‘High Point on Low Ground’, halcyon hallmarks of house - euphoric piano lines, bubbling acid and luminescent keys - are shot through with Donaldson’s tough, distinctive percussion. It’s that same connection with Dekmantel that has encouraged Donaldson to quickly, impressively evolve as a DJ of some distinctive taste and talent. A memorable performance at Dekmantel’s flagship Amsterdam festival in 2015 captured open hearts, lost minds and aching feet. Since then, the sound of Palms Trax has been a fixture on their enormous main stage, drifting seamlessly between vintage house, esoteric disco and the various shades of a bubbling UK underground he has helped define. Occasional back-to-back performances with the likes of Hunee, Young Marco, Antal and Midland, all DJs regularly credited for their breadth of musical knowledge and sheer versatility, speak volumes for Donaldson’s DJing nous, which has lead him on an international trail; from South America to Australia, and from Panorama Bar to Concrete, Contact, De School, and Lux. Donaldson has also-amassed a patient, open-minded following with his cult monthly radio show, the decidedly less-than-culinary ‘Cooking with Palms Trax’, broadcast on Berlin Community Radio since 2015. On each show, Donaldson takes a deep, vinyl-led drive into his adopted history, fostering a level of trust and shared curiosity that has allowed him to helm all-night sets under the ‘Cooking with Palms Trax’ moniker. Into 2018, he’ll be holding down residencies in Boston, Glasgow and Bordeaux, as well as inviting like-minded DJs into his metaphorical kitchen, throughout a series of self-curated evenings into early mornings of music.
Red Greg
DJ Red Greg grew up in East London and got his first taste of DJ'ing around '85 after gathering a few records and listening to local sound systems and dj mix tapes from Froggy (RIP) and Derek B. (RIP) who were both DJs at his local club. Shortly afterwards he started playing Funk, Soul, Rare Groove, Go Go, House and Acid, however his love affair with Disco & Boogie didn't start until a few years later in '88. With an ever-growing collection and passion for the underground sound he met DJ Louis Heel at a London gig and the two launched their own club night, 'Ebonite' Darren's depth of knowledge, diggin' passion and technical ability has led to worldwide DJ gigs including the revered NYC party 'Love Chant', plus Paris' 'Mona', 'Club Sandwich' and the legendary 'Maxim's'.

Co-founder of Berlin community radio station Refuge Worldwide and founder of techno, dub and ambient label Kynant Records.
Suze Ijó
A communal hub that used to exist in her home city, the space was designed for music lovers to come together to play, listen and talk, as well as collaborate on private events that are influenced by David Mancuso's infamous Loft parties. That Loft manifesto feeds into the sounds in her own DJ sets too, whether in the booth or on the waves. From infectious Chicago house to uplifting 80s cuts and warm, soulful grooves; the mood transports you back to the heydays where dance floors were becoming spaces for freedom, self-expression and connection. It's music to bring people together, music to get you moving, and music to lose yourself in. Now a globe-trotting DJ, Ijó has brought her unique sound to venues such as Nowadays, Smartbar, and Spot Lite Detroit in North America. In Asia, she has graced the stages of the Wonderfruit Festival in Thailand and Potato Head in Bali. Her music resonates in prestigious European venues like Panorama Bar, De School, Lux Fragíl, Kaiku, and at Dekmantel Festival, where she frequently performs. Despite a hectic schedule, Ijó's club sets are marked by intentionality and focus, creating a unique atmosphere for each space and night. To her, "House" is a feeling, an ambience, not just a BPM range. Her approach transforms club nights into collective, bodily, and spiritual experiences crafted by everyone involved. Ijó is also frequently sought after for her curatorial skills, recently curating stages at Dekmantel Festival (Connects Stage), Wilde Weide Festival, and producing podcasts for United Identities. While her live performances are highly anticipated, Ijó also shares her musical journey through numerous radio shows on NTS, The Lot Radio, and the Dekmantel Podcast series, allowing listeners to experience her distinctive style anytime. words by Jamila Woodley & Rosie Cain
