Cem Ozden
Born in Boston and raised in Istanbul, Cem Ozden’s relationship with music began early. By sixteen he was already behind the decks in Istanbul’s clubs, driven by a deep curiosity for sound and an instinctive approach to mixing. Alongside DJing, he began organising parties in Istanbul and later in Boston, sharing lineups with artists who shaped his musical vision, including Kenny Larkin, Barnt, Mr. C and D’Julz. In 2017, he moved to Milan, where he founded Fake Society, a record label and event series and launched Sound Bakery, a monthly residency at Dude Club showcasing forward-thinking artists such as Cezar, Priku, Cristi Cons and Praslea. Exposure to diverse club cultures and genres across cities has continually shaped his sound, informed by dedicated record digging and a broad musical palette has taken him to dance floors in Berlin, Paris, Moscow, New York and Miami. Since relocating to London in 2021, Cem has expanded Fake Society’s international scope while continuing to host club nights and maintaining regular appearances in Istanbul’s leading nightclubs while keeping his party residencies at Little Portland Street and Lion and Lamb. Alongside his work as a DJ, promoter and curator, he co-created Chiave Shoreditch, an intimate music-led cocktail bar and listening venue on Redchurch Street that blends bespoke drinks with carefully curated sound and DJ programming, a space born from his long-standing commitment to community, craft and the connective power of music.
