About this event

In a world ruled by profit and domination, our dance steps become living currency — instruments of exchange for urgent and necessary negotiations. At the table of these negotiations, we meet those who know how to build networks, intertwine relations, and make kin. We take inspiration from jellyfish, arachnids, and octopuses: bodies that think in multiple directions, that expand, that connect. A tentacular way of thinking — collective, versatile, and attuned to the demands of what is yet to come — shows us that dancing is, and will always be, an act of continuous reinvention, sustained by many legs, many arms, many worlds in motion. On June 3rd, on the eve of a holiday, we open the doors once again to this arena of negotiations. At the bar, Destiny’s Parents and Moski weave the edge of our great web; in the club, MEIBI, Nene H, and HAO reaffirm the importance of life in the depths. We are joined by performances from Lexa BlacK and Tomás Fernandes, reminding us that the body transforms into language and connection.

Meibi

MEIBI is a singular force in Lisbon’s club landscape — a first-generation East Asian artist and the creator of EXOTIKA, a queer-driven residency at the legendary Lux Frágil that reclaims the dancefloor as a space for togetherness, where music, performance, and community values merge to celebrate difference. Known for their enigmatic yet provocative presence, MEIBI approaches each performance as a living narrative, guided by a refined sensitivity to everything in play: the unspoken connection with the audience, the relational dynamics between artists, and the collective intention of the experience. Every act becomes a unique synthesis of these forces, giving rise to sets that can only exist in that exact moment. Guided by intuition and exploring techno’s deep, hypnotic roots alongside its forward-thinking, body-focused mutations, MEIBI moves between the mental and the physical, the melancholic and the ecstatic, using sound and performance to question identity, unsettle societal norms and disrupt expectations while remaining committed to the shared experience. They’ve shared stages with titans like Dasha Rush, Mama Snake, Patrick Mason, and JASSS, commanding dancefloors at iconic venues across Portugal, including Outra Cena, Gare Porto, and Galeria Zé dos Bois. MEIBI has also fostered a profound connection with Lisbon’s queer collectives, including MINA and ARVI at Planeta Manas. As a resident at Lux Frágil, they are a central figure in the city’s vibrant club scene. Beyond Lisbon, MEIBI’s talent has reached iconic venues such as Corsica Studios, Renate, and Golden Pudel, as well as global platforms including Boiler Room and Neopop. Their rare vision continues to redefine contemporary electronic music, solidifying their place as a transformative force on the global stage.

Nene H

Nene H is an artist in constant motion. Shaped by her Turkish-Azerbaijani heritage, a conservatory education in classical piano, and an enduring infatuation with the emotional complexity of sound, her music is an evolving force tethered to both instinct and precision. Whether in the club or on stage, Nene H’s output unravels, reforms, and leaves a mark that’s hard to name but impossible to forget. After a period of intense self-inquiry, 2025 signals a sharp pivot for Nene H. A chapter defined by a hyper-focussed refining of sound, while retaining her signature elasticity. Her newest work doesn’t simplify; it distills, honing the emotional and rhythmic tensions that have always driven her sound. On stage, that focus splinters into immersive, shape-shifting performances. From her monumental 8-hour live improvisation at STOOR to her choral collaborations for CTM with The National Choir of Georgia, and Dekmantel with the Dutch Opera, Nene H continues to push the limits of form, without losing sight of feeling. Rooted in Berlin for over a decade, she has become a vital presence in the city’s queer underground not only as an artist, but as a cultural amplifier, championing SWANA, Muslim, and femme perspectives in spaces where they’ve long been overlooked. As a producer, her catalog spans labels such as Standard Deviation, Intrepid Skin, Live from Earth, and Incienso, the latter releasing her starkly intimate debut album Ali علي. Her forthcoming second album, Second Skin, deepens her commitment to radical vulnerability: a sonic reckoning with identity, grief, and selfhood, written in the midst of six months of personal and emotional upheaval.
