Shimanski

Growing up in Berlin, shaped by a dancing mother and a bass-intensive dad (famous DDR musician), the music means EVERYTHING for Shimanski from an early age. At the age of five, the keys of a piano were already sensitively operated, at the age of 12 the drum sticks and a drum kit were added. Shimanski originally started with techno music in 2012. She played in small clubs in Berlin to practice a lot. Today Shimanski enchants the dance crowd with music, back to the roots mixed with electronic elements, a lot of Italo disco, dark disco, indie dance and nu wave. Since 2020 Shimanski has been a resident DJ of the Disco Bizarre crew, which is famous for their legendary shows at KitKatClub Berlin. Since 2022 she has the chance to host one Saturday per month at the lovely basement of KitKatClub, where she invites many great artists from around the globe.

About DJ himself Dirk Junklewitz aka D.J. himself has been passionate about music and djing since his first private partys in the mid-eighties. Over the years he developed a vast knowledge of all kinds of music genres which he loves to combine in his sets into musical journeys capturing the vibes of his audience and transforming them into either a groovy lounge atmosphere or a stirring funky dance party. With his love for dancing and his contagious passion behind the decks he always catches the crowd with infectious beats, breaks and grooves from all decades, genres and cultures. DJ himself started organizing partys, concerts, art- and fashionshows in 2008 in Vienna with the Flying Funk Circus https://www.facebook.com/flyingfunkcircus (which was musically the same as Disco Bizarre now), moved 2010 to Hamburg and 2015 to Düsseldorf and has since then been djing internationally in countless clubs, on weddings/birthdays, corporate and public events and festivals. 2017 he founded DISCO BIZARRE as a regular event (and record label) at the worldfamous KITKAT CLUB in Berlin and has since been djing monthly there as resident together with renowned DJs from all around the globe. Currenty the Disco Bizarre team consists of Stefanie Schimmack aka Shimanski (www.instagram.com/shimanski_/ ), Carlo von Lynx aka Bizarre Billy (www.billyidle.com ) and DJ himself who organize the events and booking together. DJ himself and Disco Bizarre have built up a vast international network between DJs, musicians, producers, labels and clubs – all connected by the love for music.

Today, JIMMIE continues to push the boundaries of her craft, channeling her love for music into every performance and creating a lasting impression that resonates with seasoned ravers and newcomers alike.
