DIAKI RADIO FUNDRAISER: Rotational, Tash LC, Mina, Teddy Kitano, Sho Gabi, Joseph Wood

On July 24th at AAJA, Deptford: Rotational, Tash LC, Mina, Teddy Kitano, Sho Gabi, and Joseph Wood join forces to raise funds for Diaki Radio FM, DJ Diaki’s community radio station being built in Siby, Southern Mali.

As the conflict in Mali continues to intensify, with hundreds of civilians killed in recent weeks and widespread displacement, access to trusted local information is more important than ever. Community radio projects like Diaki Radio FM play a crucial role in helping people stay informed, access essential resources, and remain connected to one another.

Across much of Africa, where access to electricity and digital infrastructure can be limited, radio remains one of the most accessible and widely consumed forms of media. Diaki Radio FM will provide a platform for the people of Siby, helping to preserve and celebrate Mandé culture while offering access to local news and public information.

The Diaki Radio Fundraiser brings together key figures who have helped amplify African and Afro-diasporic sounds. Rotational, Tash LC, and Mina have each built strong international profiles as touring DJs and broadcasters, while staying closely connected to the scenes they move through. They come together on the 24th for Diaki, his work, and the wider social impact of his project.
