De Weide 2026

About this event
With a highly memorable 15+ year history of hosting outstanding events in the inner city of Alkmaar, the creative minds behind 3Gram now look outward and have found new lands where they can break ground.
On the outskirts of town at a mere 10 minutes away from Alkmaar's citycentre, lies De Weide. A place that is rich in light, dripping in nature and oozing with the type of freedom we have long had to miss. De Weide is where imposing trees, a monument status barn and a babbling brook will merge with modular synthesizers, enchanting basslines and pioneering beats. The sprawling festival ground offers five intimate areas, one outdoor stage at the foot of the trees with a capacity of 400+, a outdoor stage by the water with a capacity of 300, a stage in the monumental barn with a capacity of 200, a live jam stage in the field in front of the barn and a stage hidden behind the farm in a ravey and sweaty container hosting only 50 people.
The line-up consists of a combination of DJ’s and (electronic) live acts fostering off the wall collaborations. We strive to book cutting-edge performances from established and emerging artists that push the musical envelope, giving them the podium they deserve.
To this backdrop we offer a platform that encourages artistic expression while maintaining the high standards of hospitality that our crowd expect from us. Bringing together like-minded people for a unique experience in a intimate celebration of electronic music.
Lineup
Mathew Jonson
His music offers a rare fusion of populist intensities and nuanced musicality. With a keen understanding for the needs of the dance floor and the universal laws of house and techno, he's thrown out the rule book time and time again, sneaking tricks learned from electro and even drum'n'bass into the clubs, and loading up his B-sides with tracks that do what they damned well please. (No kick drum? No problem.) His standards for sound and presentation are exacting. Both on stage and in the studio, Jonson's fealty to analog equipment and real-time playing; as opposed to mere layback-serves as a standard bearer for a kind of electronic music that goes way beyond the drag 'n' drop world of digital composition. Jonson has always been eager to get his hands dirty, and the music reflects that in gnarled bass sequences and long, intuitive lines. His sounds have serious teeth. Despite his quick ascent through the ranks of the techno elite, Jonson hasn't just stayed personally grounded. He's devoted much of his energy to supporting his own close musical family, in the groups Cobblestone Jazz, Midnight Operator and the Modern Deep Left Quartet, and with his Wagon Repair label. He studied classical piano as a kid, plus jazz drumming, and played drums in a marching band – thus laying both the melodic and the rhythmic cornerstones of his music today. Thanks to his father's work as a musician, he also got his hands on synthesizers at the age of 9. By the time he discovered hip-hop as a young teen, he was recreating its electro-based beats on his own rudimentary setup at home. Jonson gradually began honing in on his own sound, both in his productions and his DJ sets, inspired by a deeper, weirder sound that had begun filtering into the Victoria's techno parties. His first record, in 2001, was the first release on Itiswhatitis (a label Mathew bought from its original owner 11 years later). Another followed in 2002, and in 2003. That year, he also made his first appearance on Perlon, 'Alpine Rocket' – a track he recorded alongside Luciano during his first trip to Europe. And then, suddenly, Jonson was everywhere: Sub Static, Arbutus, Kompakt, M_nus – and every track an anthem. "I had all that music kind of saved up," says Jonson, "and then, just by chance, released it all at the same time. People criticized me for it, said that it wasn't a good idea. But it worked out for me. All the tracks did well. I wasn't saturating the market with bad music." He's right there. In 2005, Jonson co-founded Wagon Repair, and it's been a blur since, a nonstop series of tours and recordings, solo and with his band mates. Crucially, he moved to Berlin. His studio here is jaw-dropping, frankly: a semi-circle full of gear, from old workhorses like the 808 and 909 and SH-101 to unique beasts like their Cwejman and Roland System 100m modular system. Tate's Rhodes piano anchors one corner of the horseshoe, and everything feeds into a massive desk where tracks are mixed and recorded in real-time. His two hands have come up with some remarkable material. Having perfected his brand of earthshaking epic with tracks like 'Marionette' and ‘Decompression’, Jonson has increasingly turned his efforts towards more personal, introspective music. He never left the clubs behind though; his 2010 album, Agents of Time, featured a number of tracks that are as hip-winding wily as anything he's produced yet, full-on tracks like 'Girls Got Rhythm' and 'Thieves in Digital Land'. Equally physical was his 2011 drop on Hawtin's M_nus, 'Learning To Fly', and the well-received 'Automaton' on Crosstown Rebels. His 2013 album, On Her Blurry Pictures, too; here Jonson took advantage of the long player format to stretch out and indulge darker moods and slower tempos, but the core of the record remained rooted in a dancefloor context. In 2015, Mathew fulfilled his long-standing ambition of contributing to Fabric's esteemed mix series. Fabric84 is a recording of his set at the club's 15th birthday, during which he played a number of his classic tracks and unreleased edits. The energy of the occasion and the particular way Mathew performs his material blend perfectly, capturing a singular and very special set on CD. As well as continuing to tour his in-demand solo live show, which is consistently ranked amongst Resident Advisor's top 20, Mathew has recently remixed Paul St. Hilaire + Rhauder, The Martinez Brothers, Seth Troxler, and VCMG (to add to his past work including Moby, Cybotron, The Chemical Brothers, and Nelly Furtado). He released an album with Units and Measurements in 2016, and another as his new alias Freedom Engine entitled “A Box Full Of Magic” in 2019. Eighteen years on from his debut release, 'New Identity', Mathew's sound and reputation as an artist have developed, as you would expect for someone so richly and widely talented.

Nuno dos Santos
This love translates into an almost obsessive curiosity for fresh music. As a DJ, Nuno’s style is full of energy and hypnotic, often drawing inspiration from percussive rhythms, grooves, and the wide spectrum of house music. Born in Lisbon, he grew up in the Netherlands, based long-term in Utrecht, he’s best known in the Dutch scene for his DJ residencies at the late, much-loved club Trouw (and its predecessor, Club 11), and for his label Something Happening Somewhere (SoHaSo), which he started in 2013. The label has a strong independent musical voice, with a strong hallmark on quality control, and releases only a few carefully handpicked records each year. Lately, Nuno has been spending countless hours in the studio, channeling his creativity into a series of new projects. With several EPs on the way, and a new residency at Utrecht’s beloved club NAR, this next chapter highlights his continued focus on crafting fresh, dance floor–ready sounds.
Vladimir Ivkovic
Vladimir Ivkovic is a DJ. He’s more than that of course, but as his essence, Ivkovic is someone with a particularly unique talent for selecting records and weaving them into a larger – and often unusually compelling – narrative. Born and raised in Belgrade, he first dabbled in DJing as a teenager in the mid ’80s, but it was only after leaving Yugoslavia (to study in Germany) and later coming back for a summertime visit that he truly immersed himself in the craft, taking up position behind the decks during a series of impromptu parties at a lakeside restaurant owned by his parents. From there, he spent much of the next two decades honing his skills while throwing events like Selected and Substance that played host to a cross-section of boundary-pushing DJs, long before it was fashionable to do so. Eventually, Ivkovic found his musical and spiritual home at Salon des Amateurs, an unassuming spot in Düsseldorf that’s gradually proven to be wildly influential, giving rise in recent years to otherworldly talents like Lena Willikens, Tolouse Low Trax, Jan Schulte and many others, including Ivkovic himself. With its small size, Salon des Amateurs provided something of an open platform, a place where true music lovers could experience DJs exploring sounds and genres that strayed far from traditional electronic dance music tropes. That same adventurous spirit has found its way into Ivkovic’s curation of Offen Music, a label he launched in 2015. Although the imprint’s output is all but impossible to neatly categorize – experimental Serbian rarities sit alongside ambient excursions and moody synth-pop in the label’s catalogue – the label’s open-minded approach and embrace of off-kilter sounds perfectly encapsulates Ivkovic’s artistic temperament. In recent years, that temperament has increasingly found devoted followers all around the globe. Simply put, Ivkovic has become a staple of the European club circuit; despite his many years in the humble confines of Salon des Amateurs, he’s proven to be just as comfortable at celebrated nightspots like De School (Amsterdam), Berghain (Berlin), Nitsa (Barcelona), Kaiku (Helsinki), Sub Club (Glasgow), Phonox (London), Fold (London), Corsica Studios (London), The White Hotel (Manchester), Mutabor (Moscow), Pacha (Ibiza), Blitz (Munich), Zukunft (Zurich), Concrete (Paris), Lux Fragil (Lisbon), Robert Johnson (Frankfurt), Circoloco (Ibiza) and others too numerous to list. He’s no stranger to touring either, having taken extended DJ trips to Canada (September 2017), Asia (July 2018), Australia (January 2018), Brazil and Colombia (March 2018), USA (2019, April 2022, 2023 and 2024), Brazil (September 2022). Even the festival circuit has come calling, inviting Ivkovic and his inventive rhythms to large-scale events like Primavera Sound, Unsound, World Minimal Music, Houghton, Strange Sounds from Beyond, Dekmantel, Flow, TodaysArt, Robot, Waking Life, Terraforma, Dancity, Positive Education, Elevate, Love International, Dimensions, Kala, Sziget, The Crave, and special gatherings like Convenanza … and that’s just a partial list. Still, despite all of these international adventures, Ivkovic has kept his focus on music, especially the dark and often psychedelic sounds that lurk in its unexplored corners. Each month, he distilled some of that love into Lunatic Love Songs, a much-loved and sonically borderless program on Red Bull Radio. He still does it with his frequent contributions for Noods Radio, Kiosk Radio, Oddity Radio or ROVR to name a few. Whether he’s broadcasting on the radio or piloting the dancefloor, Ivkovic is someone who applies a curatorial mindset and a deep love of music to all of his creative exploits. Yes, he’s a DJ, but he’s so much more than that; he’s a storyteller, a connoisseur and, most importantly, an artist.

Yes, this is my biography, this time straight from the DJs mouth, because why not introduce myself to the world? A challenge for myself, because as my friends say, I never boast, I’m an observer, a listener (quite a handy quality for the music industry), but here it goes… I was born in a little town near Amsterdam called Zaandam, and grew up a little more to the north. Amsterdam is part of my roots, it is the place where I first started DJing, and is now also my homebase. My mother always tells me that I was born with an innate affinity for rhythm. I started my musical journey as a toddler, tapping away on drums (the real instrument and several times on a collection of trash). My love for electronic music started with my father, he introduced me to this incredible scene. Instantly I was mesmerised by its boundless possibilities. It might sound cheesy but his inspiration is what ignited my passion for our industry, in turn shaping my life and igniting all the ideas for the future. Fueled with all this passion, I’m proud when I look back at what I’ve accomplished. So for one time only (good thing this is kind of permanent) I’m going to boast just a little. At 27 years old, there are over 10 vinyl releases, numerous collaborations and remixes, and more to come. It was insightful to go back in time and see all the growth. Every moment in time I’ve tried to pursuit personal excellence and most importantly to create something that’s an extension of my being. I get inspired by the world around me, in the past, present, and the thought of its future form. The studio is my favorite place on the planet, it’s my safe space, the place where I find solace amidst a labyrinth of synths (my favorite). During my DJ sets, I try to weave together a story consisting of my own studio jams and unique productions of fellow artists. While some may label my sound as minimal, I would like it to transcend the semantic limitation. I aim to compose a tapestry of intricacies, revealing new layers upon every listen. Whether in the studio or behind the decks, my main goal is to capture the true artistry of music production, creating captivating sounds that elicit the purest of feelings, allowing my listeners to connect with themselves and the universe around us. Now, also the proud founder of my own record label Scala Muziek, I hope I can one day be part of the driving forces within the electronic music scene. In the end folks, it all comes down to this important fact: music isn't just a vocation—it's my calling. Whether I’m lost in the depts of the studio or trying to command the dancefloor, my love for music and it’s power knows no bounds. See you soon, Pascal
