About this event

There’s a certain kind of August heat that doesn’t ask for permission. It seeps into the walls, skin, and thoughts, melting the contour of the day until time begins to slip like liquid.

They used to mark this period with feasts. The Ides of August: a pause in labour, an offering to excess, to resting eyes, slow afternoons, and the appetite for euphoria. A time capsule sheltered from the scorching rays, hidden in that place where anything goes.

A symposium, a table laid out with no clear start or end. Guests gather amid conversation and rhythm, moving between sound, warmth, and the pull of one another. Outside, August flows as smoothly as placid waves. Inside, the clock has lost its hands; the sensual density of the air wraps everything in steam. A spread laden with flavours yet to be uncovered, whether through a dance that tingles bodies, a melody, or a glance caught in the mist.

A soft breeze moves against fogged-up windows. Shadows play and dissolve as Backsteinboot’s silhouettes draw nearer, turning the space into a banquet of sounds, poured generously through day and night.

Within its magnetic abyss, Climate of Fear stands as a sanctuary of heat and reverie under the watchful gaze of the summer sun. Its signature sensuality becomes a vessel, an irresistible language spoken through the secrets shared within every 24-hour marathon by the waters of Spandau, a delicate spell cast over the day.

Caught in the pull of its velvet cloak, a whirlwind of sonic trips unfolds: pressure and textures, hypnotic swirls, and orange-tinted beams glowing like blooming flora across the dancefloor. And when you step back outside, August greets you unchanged, showing you the way back to reality.

Getting to the venue is hassle-free thanks to a complimentary shuttle service running frequently between Spandau station and Backsteinboot. A thoughtfully chosen variety of healthy snacks will be available throughout the day.

We are committed to inclusivity and do not tolerate any form of discrimination. The CoF location is fully accessible, featuring step-free entry and wheelchair-friendly facilities. Our goal is to foster a welcoming, respectful environment where everyone feels comfortable and free to enjoy the dance in a safe, consensual space, with guidelines provided upon arrival.
