About this event

Chimaera is entering its fourth edition. A volunteer-run, non-commercial festival — by ravers, for ravers. Rooted in subculture, built for the subculture. No sponsors, no glossy facade, no attitude — just genuine passion, collective energy, and a space that belongs to all of us.
Between forest and water, at Klingemühle just outside Berlin, a world of its own emerges for a few days: carefully curated electronic music, live acts, bands, workshops, sauna, art, and FUNFUNFUN across five floors. High-quality sound and thoughtful lighting concepts meet solid infrastructure — a holiday for everyone without losing its intimate vibe.
Never been before? Maybe it’s time. Been there already? Then you know what to do. We can’t wait to have you with us.

Her sets move between soulful, classic, garage, and underground house music with subtle tribal influences, creating flowing journeys that balance energy, rhythm, and atmosphere on the dance floor. Known for her carefully curated, hard-to-find records, Natalie brings musical depth and precision to every performance. Drawing from a broad range of underground dance music influences, her selections honor the foundations of house music while maintaining a contemporary feel. Neuzeitliche Bodenbeläge
The band with the impronouncable name first hit the central European underground with their 7inch “Ich verliebe mich nie/Pfleg’ mich” (Themes for Great Cities, 2018) and its vintage German Wave sound. Soon after, they made a mark with their sweat-drenched live shows. They expanded their themes of late-night lust on the follow-up “Leben” (Themes for Great Cities, 2019). For this record, they first established their distinct m.o. – each winter and spring, the duo retreat to an off-season hotel in Meersburg, a resort town on the shores of Lake Constance, where their producer and energy consultant Alexander Fuchs supplies not only his sizeable collection of analogue synthesizers, drum machines and effects, but also a decidedly nocturnal rhythm. A vibe hard to put in words but felt in the hazy, psychedelic bristles of the music. In such a setting, the last take before finally giving into sleep, with eyes already halfway shut, often turns out to be the most convincing. This is also how their first album “Der große Preis” (Bureau B, 2020) came into being – quirky and synth-heavy meditations on love, estrangement and somnambulist episodes with a melodic sensibility inspired by the big, layered sound of late-80s British Sophistipop. Corona brought an almost complete halt to their joint activites for about two years, during which the two members produced a host of music on their own – Joshua Gottmanns with his contemporary pop project J. Vague (an EP and an LP released on Mansions & Millions) and Niklas Wandt under his own name for labels such as Bureau B, Animals Dancing, Permanent Vacation and Warning. Paradoxically, the unavailability of club settings brought with it a heightened interest in the more ravey ends of their musical interests – both in their preferences as DJs as well as producers. And the dam burst when they got back down to the lake in the spring of 2022. Once a handful machines were up and running, it seemed best not to interfere too much with the process - the result, their "Neulust" EP, will be released March 15, 2024 on Swiss label Lustpoderosa.
Niklas Wandt
Niklas Wandt is a percussionist, producer, DJ and radio host . He lives in Berlin, where his eclectic approach is heard most regularly basement club Sameheads - a lush sonic palette with a hypnotic, heavily percussive drive, from tripped out downtempo and afrofunky cosmic sound (think Rimini 1995) to driving progressive and tribal house, trance, warped techno and warming tech house – high energy in smooth, long blends. The impeccable rhythmic feel is a reflection of Niklas’ musical roots in the world of drums - he has cut his teeth playing in hiphop, psychedelic rock and free jazz projects and has been part of a number of projects centered around Salon des Amateurs in Düsseldorf. A wide, open minded range of practices that still feed into his music today - at Salon he forged his musical bond to producer Jan Schulte aka Wolf Müller aka Bufiman. The pair released the acclaimed double LP "Instrumentalmusik von der Mitte der World" in 2018 via Growing Bin Records, whose blissful neo-Balearic sound still makes an impact today. Niklas can be also heard as part of the band Neuzeitliche Bodenbeläge (with records on the labels Themes for Great Cities, Bureau B and Lustpoderosa that became underground favorites) and in a duo with veteran producer Sascha Funke (two discs on Multi Culti, a third one on R.A.N.D. Muzik), plus on a string of releases for imprints such as Bureau B, Permanent Vacation, Animals Dancing, Neubau, Warning and Edizioni Mondo/Running Back. His various projects have taken him all across Europe (appearing at festivals like Nuits Sonores, Fusion, Garbicz, Unsound, Dancity), to China, Israel & Palestine, the US, Chile, Peru and Mexico. February 2025 will see the release of “Mineral House Vol. 1”, Niklas’ first collaborative EP with Amsterdam-based producer Retromigration, via the revered Berlin imprint Love on the Rocks. A music journalist, critic and presenter by day, his features, portraits and reviews mostly on jazz and its many branches can be heard regularly on German public radio stations WDR 3, Deutschlandfunk and SWR Kultur.
