The self-described „Producer(not a DJ)“ Steve O’Sullivan runs Mosaic Records alongside his labels Blueprint and Green: cult UK labels that gave platforms to Ricardo Villalobos, Deepchord and Roman Flügel. Influenced by the likes of Moritz von Oswald & Mark Ernestus and the Minimal Techno of Robert Hood to Chicago house, he’s first and foremost a producer and has rarely DJed, presenting his music instead through an all-hardware live set: slowly-evolving, dub-inflected tracks built on subtle, analogue sounds and the long view.
Niebla and Verraco both come from Colombia. Niebla (the Spanish word for mist, which gives a first hint of her sound!) is a resident at Bogotá's Video Club, her sets move through deep, techy, and dubby house and techno with a nineties and early 2000s sensibility. Alongside affiliations with XL Recordings, VOAM, and Batu's Timedance, Verraco co-runs the TraTraTrax imprint. Playing with bright, bold colours, his idea of techno and IDM, Latin-inflected tribal, hyper-electronica, dembow rhythms, and breaks questions and challenges what some might consider the limits of "Latin" club music.
Vienna-based Nizar Sarakbi was born in Kyiv and came to electronic music through rap, reggae, dub, and a classical background before finding his own register: dubby techno, house, and minimal with a penchant for psychedelia. His latest coup, alongside his dear Katia Curie: a new imprint called Perla Plastica, which celebrated its debut with a collaborative release alongside Reduks.
