Another Thought is a day-to-night celebration of collective musical spirit; some parts Balearic, some parts Adriatic, some parts acid house, with a dash of eclecticism in all the right ways.

Open-hearted. Sun-soaked. Slightly sideways.

This is an invitation to listen differently & dance without urgency. Built for those who stay curious. For dancers who remember why they started and those who stay out later than they’re supposed to. A place for the collectors and selectors. Deep cuts, B-sides, and the forgotten.

This is not a throwback, this is continuity. Slow builds and unexpected turns alongside a healthy dose of what you like.

Space to move, space to feel. No rush. No hype. No filler.

Lineup

Alex Kassian

Kyiv-born, Berlin-based producer known for lush, Balearic and trance-inflected progressive house.

Alexia Glensy

Not defined by a genre, Alexia’s sound is a multi-faceted journey of depth and emotion, a conversation between her audience and herself. Born in London, with her roots in Brazil, the blending of cultures was ingrained in her from a young age, taking influence from both her South American and European heritages. Despite starting her career in Sao Paulo, Alexia craved more. She quickly relocated back to London, diving head-first to pursue music full-time. In 2020, Alexia moved to Amsterdam, where she was taken under the wing of the highly acclaimed VBX and Shelter crews, allowing her to settle in and find her ground. In the meantime, her passion project, LeMaia, an events, clothing and record label, came to life, helping her pave her own way and build her career to what it is today. From Brazil to Lithuania, Uruguay to France, Switzerland to Spain, Alexia’s music has already taken her many corners of the world, playing at some of the most credible and highly respected venues and festivals like Fabric London, Wildeburg Festival, Hoppetosse, Opium Club, DC-10, the globally esteemed Awakenings Festival, and of course, her residency in Shelter, Amsterdam. An artist with a relentless hunger to immerse herself in the experience of it all, absorbing, learning and growing, Alexia’s bounds aren’t in sight. We’re excited to see what the future holds. The best is yet to come.

Bill Brewster

One minute he’s rocking the roof off at Fabric with his tough and funky big-room underground house; the next he’s charming the pants off a more intimate crowd with everything from dubby disco, funk and hip-hop to trip hop and Latin batucadas. Armed with a sensitivity and sense of occasion that few DJs possess Bill Brewster knows how to work a crowd in the best possible sense. Originally a chef, a football pundit (co-editor of fanzine When Saturday Comes) and record collector, Bill began DJing in in the late 80s, but he cut his teeth playing ‘Low Life’ warehouse parties in Harlem and the East Village – he moved to NYC to run DMC’s US operation – and anyone hearing Bill today can see how these New York ‘roots’ shine through. For eclecticism, surprises, amazing unique music and sheer long-haul dedication to the dancefloor, Bill’s your man. His other life is as a writer. Together with long-term pal Frank Broughton, Bill is author of the definitive history of DJing, Last Night A DJ Saved My Life, and has contributed his acid Grimsby wit and encyclopaedic knowledge of music to just about every dance rag there is, not to mention The Guardian, Independent and Mail On Sunday. The Brewster-Broughton double act unveiled their latest hit in 2002 with the uniquely sardonic DJ manual How To DJ (Properly). They have recently completed an updated version of Last Night A DJ Saved My Life that will be published in June, along with a double CD from Universal. He’s an industry insider, having brought Twisted records to the UK and launched his own highly successful deep house label Forensic. In his spare time he is often found in the studio, either with Fat Camp partner, Theo Noble, re-editing old disco, funk and rock records; or producing original music. They run a small edit label Disco Sucks. As his hero Kid Creole would say, 'Annie I'm not your daddy.' WHAT THE PRESS SAY ABOUT BILL “Brilliant.” Mixmag “What Bill Brewster doesn’t know about disc jockeying is probably not worth knowing.” Jockey Slut “What’s the best reason for playing a record? Because you love it. What’s the best reason for starting a party? Because no one else is doing it like you can. It’s pretty simple really, but so many DJs and promoters forget what got them excited in the first place. Bill Brewster hasn’t. The encouragement of DJs like Rocky (X-Press 2) and Jon ‘Beloved’ Marsh and promoters like Nikki Smith at Fabric (who rave about him) has spurred him on and club crowds are responding, too.” Time Out “One of Fabric’s heroes is behind the decks for one of his multi-genre embracing sessions. It’s going to be a late one.” Metro “The glamorous and bewitching Bill Brewster steps up to the ones and twos for more high-quality action. “ Tim Out New York “You know people who memorise every release and DJ shoe size right back to 1875? That’s the Faith posse, that is. Led by Terry Farley and Bill Brewster, they’re a bit long in the tooth now – they’d have to be to have this musical knowledge – but this is simply unmissable: beautiful, varied and at times even tear-jerking.” Ministry on Faith Vol 1 CD “The greatest book ever written about dance music.” Daily Mirror on Last Night A DJ Saved My Life

Chris Stoker

Chris Stoker is one-half of Not An Animal Records. A label born from the party debris left uncleaned from London’s infamous Bad Passion parties & one-half of production outfit Ess O Ess. There aren’t many lazy descriptors for any given DJ set by him, but it’d be rare not to hear unadulterated guitar licks, acidic modulations, ritualistic kosmiche drones & “that unheard b-side”, pieced together on a whim. Come as you are, Stay for the night. You’ll feel much better afterwards. Nothing is certain ex

Faze Action

Faze Action Biography 2019 Brothers Simon & Robin Lee are Faze Action. They have been writing, producing, playing live and DJing for over 20 years and have released 5 critically acclaimed artist LPs and countless remixes, making them one of the most credible and in demand original artists within the growing Disco, House and Balearic scene. Their early successes, included “In the Trees” that features Robin’s classical ‘cello, and “Disco Motion”, became instant classics on the Nuphonic label and changed the musical landscape at the time, paving the way for the Disco revival of today. The brothers started their musical journey growing up in Amersham in the suburbs of London. With its close proximity to the capital city, Simon & Robin soon found themselves becoming obsessed with Disco, Jazz Funk and early House music. Robin, who was already learning the ‘cello and piano’, says. “Simon would bring home records, like Johnny Hammond’s Fantasy, and ask me to play along. We had never heard music like this and we felt we were discovering something new. It was a revelation”. By the mid 90’s Simon was DJing and working in a record shop and Robin was playing live regularly in classical concerts and bands. They decided to make their first record, entitled “Original Disco Motion”, a contemporary slice of modern disco, which was sampled by Moodyman, released on the legendary Nuphonic label. The track became an instant underground classic, garnering support from Francois K and Frankie Knuckles. This set them up for the next release; “In The Trees”, which went on to become recognised as one of the UK’s classic house records, linking Faze Action to the birth of House and Disco in the UK. Through the 90’s, 00’s and up to the present day, Faze Action have released an impressive amount of credible original music, including their stunning Afro, Disco, House track, “Kariba” with Zimbabwean artist Zeke Manyika and ”Samba", with Nina Miranda, from their “Moving Cities” LP. In 2006 they set up their own label (FAR) and released the classic Space Disco LP "Stratus Energy”, which included “Good Lovin’” and “I Wanna Dancer”, that received support from Horse Meat Disco, Joey Negro and Dimitri from Paris. With their 2014 LP; “Body of One”, Faze Action proved they could reach a wider audience when the single “Time By Your Side” reached over a million plays on Spotify. Recent releases on their FAR imprint have included the highly sort after “Mangwana” featuring Zeke Manyika, “Vamos Pintar” with Nina Miranda plus the underground Disco hit “Get Up & Dance" by Andromeda Orchestra and more recently Rudy’s Midnight Machine’s shimmering Balearic classic “Midnight Safari”. With a slew of releases slated for 2019, this year is likely to be a productive one for the brothers Lee. Not content with writing and producing new music, Simon and Robin are in demand as DJs and have criss crossed the globe playing at festivals and clubs with their trademark sets joining the dots between Disco, Afro, Balearic and beyond. They are also avid record collectors stating that “It’s a constant source of inspiration for writing and our DJ sets” This has culminated in a number of compilations including “Under the Influence Vol. 7” for Joey Negro’s Z records, which was released in May 0f 2018. Faze Action are one of the few acts, in the modern disco world, who write and create original music. Faze Action have said in the past that “You can’t beat the feeling when you have created something new and you see it connect with a crowd that you are DJing to.” Their music has also been featured in adverts and films for the likes of Chanel and on HBO. One of Faze Action’s strong points is their live show, which again has seen them connect with audiences on every continent including Glastonbury and US tour support for Groove Armada.

Nadia Ksaiba

Anyone familiar with London’s late-night disco dens over the past 10 years will recognise the name Nadia Ksaiba. The Tunisian-born DJ/producer is a regular cast member at veteran electronic party Bugged Out! and Shoreditch club XOYO and one of the capital’s best-kept-secrets. A seasoned tastemaker, Ksaiba hosts the monthly show Rhythm Connection with Dan Beaumont (Chapter 10, Dalston Superstore) on NTS Radio. Now in its fifth year, the artists they’ve uncovered and played first reads like the year in dance music cover stars: Honey Dijon, The Black Madonna, Bicep, Daniel Avery, the list goes on. Her DJ style, meanwhile, flies in the face of what she calls “emotionless, seamless Beatport bangers”, instead spanning a nuanced mix of disco, boogie, proto-house, techno, Italo, minimal wave post-punk, acid and party jams that pump the heart of electronic music. Whether she’s playing Panorama Bar, soundtracking the pole-dancing at east London drag party Savage or covering Optimo for one of their famed Sunday-nighters at Glasgow’s Sub Club, there are few dancefloors that Ksaiba can’t make jack. Ksaiba has been fine-tuning her kinetic sets since the early-2000s, when the parties of Jacques Lu Cont (the Gallic moniker of pop super-producer Stuart Price) introduced her to funky, filtered French house music. When her record collection got out of hand, she bought turntables and started DJing. Her first ever gig was at Bugged Out! in 2002, swiftly followed by bookings at iconic London club Fabric, Arthur Baker’s Return To New York and beyond. Her DJ sets are a shimmering stomp through New York and Chicago’s neon-lit backstreets – but they’re also a subtle education, and decidedly against the groove of whatever the big club sounds are. In the mid-2000s, Ksaiba put that theory to the test with her two cult clubs that helped define London’s party scene. She found a kindred spirit in in Rory Phillips, a resident DJ at The End’s indie-electro party Trash, and together they had the prestigious residency And Did We Mention Our Disco? at legendary Shoreditch club Plastic People and they founded Say Yes – two crucial underground parties for knowing clubbers. Both were hugely important in giving new DJ talent a platform, as they were hosting the likes of LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy, Italians Do It Better, Hot Chip and Simian Mobile Disco. Ksaiba also shines as an artist in her own right. Her G&S project with Matt Waites released underground hits on Andy Blake’s seminal label Dissident and on Disco Bloodbath’s imprint. In 2013, meanwhile, she pricked the ears of Erol Alkan, who released her single Virtual Lover on his label, Phantasy Sound (the home of Daniel Avery, Connan Mockasin and Beyond The Wizard’s Sleeve). A knowing slice of wonky synth-funk, Virtual Lover refocused the energy of her DJ sets with a pop lens, leading one magazine to describe it as “Tom Tom Club meets Madonna” – the Madonna part being Ksaiba herself on vocals. 2018 is set to be the year that Ksaiba goes from insider tip to internationally renowned party-hopper – though the unassuming DJ would never say so herself. The focus of her sets, she says, is simply to “make people connect and really feel what was happening when the artist made the record”. Ksaiba’s recent appearances at Bicep’s XOYO takeover and Ministry of Sound’s flagship disco night Glitterbox are bringing that mentality to the masses, while her latest stints on Rinse FM are yet another introduction to her metallic-edged nocturnal world.

Rosie Ama

Having cut her teeth as a writer and editor for online music platforms Stamp The Wax and Ransom Note, Rosie went on to form Kiara Scuro in 2016 with her friend Nadia - a DJ and production duo with releases for the likes of fabric originals, Ritmo Fatale and Faux Poly, as well as long-standing radio residencies on Rinse FM and Balamii Radio. After a decade together, Rosie has now turned her focus to her solo project and the trippy sonics that first ignited her passion for DJing, and continue to guide the output of her record label, Human Endeavour. Her editorial background helped sharpen her curatorial ear and connect her with likeminded artists around the world, which led her to launch the imprint in 2022. It serves as a platform for artists operating in the deep, dark and hypnotic corners of electronic music and has been home to artists like Anastasia Zems, Justine Forever, Nandele, Medicine 8 and Thomass Jackson. As another outlet to share her musical discoveries, Rosie hosts a monthly radio show on Bristol’s Noods Radio called Melodic Odds, which showcases her sleazy cocktail of low-slung chuggers, leftfield acid house and synth-driven grooves. With recent support slots for Optimo, Wallace and Make A Dance under her belt, Rosie Ama is beginning to carve a name for herself in the underground club space…

Tia Cousins

Owning records is easy, playing them, easier. Reading a room, knowing what lands, stitching tracks into something that moves a crowd - that's where the craft separates itself from the collection. The tapestry of becoming a real DJ is an art form few truly master. Step forth, Tia Cousins, London-based selector, radio broadcaster, and self-proclaimed BoG Witch who has made a name for herself by digging through the cracks others overlook. In an era drowning in information, she's carved out a niche collecting the in-between sounds - experimental gear, obscure niches, the old and the new - amassing a collection of music that frankly shouldn't belong to someone her age. It's one that has won her plenty of recognition in all the right circles, from NTS to Balamii, the Tate Gallery to Brilliant Corners. Tia's extensive knowledge threads together EBM, Italo, Techno, Synth-Pop, Post-punk and House, leaving no stone unturned. Learning to DJ in her university bedroom after a friend left their decks behind, she's refined her approach over the years: finding moments of silence to transition, and keeping things simple with minimal effects. These dizzyingly eclectic yet well-sequenced selections have turned heads on radio stations around the world, most recently landing her a monthly residency on Bristol's Noods Radio. Her well-curated radio shows have become a calling card - a space for music she actually wants to listen to at home, rather than the usual ‘club’ fare. Reaching deep into jazz, krautrock, ambient, and the experimental fringes that keep dancefloors guessing, she's also cleared a few floors in her time, "I quite like doing that - filtering out the crowd so that only those who are vibing remain." Tia's also turned her unique ears to A&R, heading up the musical direction for the Ransom Note's record label, as well as co-parenting the ambient and plant cassette label Music To Watch Seeds Grow By. Born from a sober stint spent hyperfixating on gardening and sprouting seeds, the cassette label pairs ambient music with the slow, mindful art of horticulture. The past couple of years have been huge for the young selector, and she can be found performing with the likes of Optimo, Decius, Lena Willikens, Helena Hauff and Vladimir Ivkovic. This year she's debuted at Panorama Bar, Convenanza and Waterworks, toured Asia, alongside regular appearances at Field Maneuvers, Love International, Golden Lion, Bugged Out and Watching Trees - where she's soundtracked silent films, played main stage sets whilst co-curating the The Bush of Ghosts ambient area. When you add in mixes for Erol Alkan's Phantasy, BICEP, the fabric International Women's Day series, as well as being featured on Resident Advisor's mix of the day, it’s safe to say Tia is quietly earning acclaim that even the most seasoned of artists would yearn for.

Tom Sharkett

Toshiki Ohta

In his early teens, Toshiki was almost permanently locked to pirate radio stations like Touchdown and Kool FM. A fake NUS card took the 16 year old into a hedonistic, progressive world of raves, seduced by the sounds of early jungle at nights like AWOL and World Dance to techno from Laurent Garnier, Billy Nasty and Fabi Paras each playing at the height of their powers at Club UK. Decades later, and Tosh’s taste for new music has yet to dampen, as his reputation as a versatile, generous selector has only grown. In a hype-focused environment for DJing, it speaks volumes that Tosh has been on-hand for London promoters such as Percolate and Krankbrother in order to play alongside some of the world's most influential DJs. As well as shows in the UK he plays overseas in Australia, Greece, Croatia and regularly in his home country Japan, where he has played in Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya, as well as broadcasting on the country's influential Dommune stream. In 2020, Tosh joined DJ October and Faso as a monthly co-host on the cult ‘Sacred Pools’ show on NTS Radio, a no-holds-barred trip dissolving the boundaries between electronic and alternative music. Whether in muddy fields, vast club spaces or in a small improvised Room 2, Tosh’s sincere acid house spirit and infectious enthusiasm always translates, always inspires. John Thorp, 2020
