Every October, the annual pilgrimage to Amsterdam Dance Event brings electronic music artists, DJs, labels, and crews from around the world together in Amsterdam. This year, Fold Theory and Detroit Techno Militia join forces at KillaCutz Records to represent American techno with an all-American artist, all-vinyl showcase.
From the city that gave techno to the world to a new generation pushing the sound forward on the East Coast, the lineup connects different threads of the American underground. Detroit Techno Militia brings the uncompromising spirit and tradition of Detroit, while Fold Theory represents a growing Philadelphia techno scene, bringing together artists committed to the craft, culture, and continued evolution of the music.
Behind the decks, there are no borders. Expect deep cuts, Detroit classics, overlooked records, new-school pressure, and techno pulled from collections spanning labels and artists from around the world. American Techno describes the people behind the decks and the scenes they represent, not the limits of their record bags.
Joining Fold Theory and Detroit Techno Militia are artists from across the American underground for an afternoon and evening dedicated to vinyl, record culture, and techno in its natural habitat: the record store.
No laptops. No festival stage. Just DJs, records, turntables, and people packed into one of Amsterdam's essential destinations for underground electronic music.
